Immigration problems in UK....your views..Dont be racist....
Ok, I'm gonna go ahead and post on this one too, even though I'm in the US... where at one point every one, except the Native Americans were immigrants.
Because in my area there are many South Americans and from what I can see, they come here, work their asses off to get paid very little money and they all pile into 1 house because it's the only way they can afford to live her on the income they make (because in my opinion they get taken advantage of by employers) My biggest beef is that alot of them don't speak English and if I'm going somewhere for service I would like the person to be able to understand me and me them... but I always try to learn a little of other languages too. I've worked on and off in the restaraunt industry for many years and it really helps to know some Spanish when dealing with the cook/kitchen staff here in the states.
I don't have an issue with people coming here to make money and better themselves but I do have an issue with half of our customer service/call center jobs being outsourced to other countries because the large companies can save money that way 😛 Keep our jobs in our country and let them come here to work if they so desire, that's my 2 cents on that!
Religion and political correctness, well that's a whole other story.... I may get put down for saying this but I think that organized religions are alot of times the root of alot of intolerance so I choose to have my own form of spiritualism and keep it to myself. As long as someone isn't shoving their beliefs down my throat then they can have their churches, temples, mosks (sp??) or whatever and I'll continue to believe what I believe and let them believe what they want to believe. I think it's very sad though that many people are killed over religious beliefs every day, hence my thinking it is a root of intolerance. Who's to say any body's belief is right, none of us really know do we?
my boyfreind is from a differant counrty and belive me the things they go though to get to england is unbelivable and people hav to leave their famillies in thier own country my boyfreiend gets depressed now because he missies his familley it really is terrible in other countries.
Tam i agree with you on the religion thing. I think a lot of bad things are done 'in the name of religion' (which brings us to another reason why people want to live in the UK where they can practise their religion freely without risk of persecution) what does get on my nerves (sorry going off topic) is people who knock on my door trying to get me to join their church. i disagree with this immensley, due to the fact my great grandmother was told that if she didn't pray for her recently deceased hubands soul he would burn in hell. Her being a greiving widow and not at that time was thinking clearly, then joined this certain church (I won't mention which as I'm not saying they are all the same). Did everything for them, knocked on the doors, as my dad called it 'god bothering', but when it came to her needing some support during an illness the only time anyone came to see her was to see when she could go out recruiting, not to mention to donate money for this and that, it dawned on her that she had been, in her words 'brainwashed'. It was very sad and she died very bitter about that 🙁
Although I'm not writing off religion, don't get me wrong, some people have turned their lives around by finding a religion, but, I still feel a lot of influencial people in religion do things in the name of religion which is wrong!

Sorry to keep the subject of religion going when this is a immigration thread but i couldn't agree with the last couple of threads more! I don't care one iota if you want to pray to little green men every half an hour for your entire life. i just don't want to be told all about it and asked to join, then be told if i don't pray to gordon the gecko my family or myself will suffer? Where is the sense? I also agree that religion has a lot to answer for. I just wish people could except each other for what they are and not who or what they are or believe in? I can honestly say if you are a good person who is helpful, hardworking and kind to others then i don't care where you are from, who you are or what you believe in! Xx

lol, Not sure where that came from but i feel better now i've got that off my chest! haha Xx
my view on this is - if u come over here where ever u are from u should be made to work and support ur family. This country is too free with letting anyone in and giving them benefits. And also too easy giving benefits out (but thats another thread all together lol)
i think im just bitter becoz ive worked since i was 15yrs old and always paid tax & NI but when we needed help and was being made homeless we got no help or benefits what so ever.
but there u go 😜
