We still want this page to be useful, so the guidance below explains the kind of content we look for when submissions reopen.

JustParents provides information for parents and expectant parents, many of whom are first-time mums and dads. Most articles we publish are either practical pieces on a pregnancy or parenting topic, or lighter opinion pieces about family life.

Our editorial goal is to inform and engage people looking for pregnancy or parenting advice in a friendly, useful, and knowledgeable way.

We pay for high-quality articles accepted for publication on JustParents.co.uk. Payment is made by PayPal within 24 hours of the finished article being approved.

Submission Guidelines

To give your idea the best chance of being accepted, please follow these guidelines carefully.

  • Search the site first, for example using Google, to check whether we have already covered the topic. If we have, your pitch needs to bring a genuinely fresh angle.
  • For current known requirements, see the list later on this page. You do not have to stick to one of those ideas though, and we are always interested in strong original pitches.
  • We do not accept content that has already been published elsewhere, or that will be published elsewhere. All submissions are also checked for plagiarism.
  • We do not accept content created mainly to link back to you or your client's website. If needed, we may add nofollow to external links in submitted articles.
  • Please send all article pitches through our contact form, selecting Editorial Contribution from the topic dropdown.
  • Start your pitch with the proposed article title. Opinion pieces should grab attention, while informational pieces should clearly match topics our audience are likely to search for.
  • Send us the first paragraph of your article and a short outline of the rest.
  • In a sentence or two, explain the angle of the piece and why it will connect with our readers.
  • Include 3 to 4 links to other relevant work you have published online. Your own blog is fine. If you have not been published before, just let us know.
  • Please only pitch the same specific article once, though you are welcome to send multiple separate ideas.

If we are interested in publishing your article, we will get in touch to discuss a delivery deadline and payment details. Depending on our publication backlog, accepted content is usually published within 2 to 6 weeks. If your article is published, JustParents retains the right to republish or reuse the material in future, with an author credit to you.

Style Guide

JustParents has a worldwide audience, but primarily serves UK readers and our content reflects that. Contributors from other countries should use British English, such as colour rather than color, and avoid information that is only relevant elsewhere, such as US laws, healthcare systems, education systems, or cultural references like Thanksgiving.

Our editorial style for informational content is engaging, friendly, and actionable. Think of it as a knowledgeable friend giving advice. Informational pieces should be easy to understand, well researched, and appropriately cited from trustworthy sources. Where relevant, include practical tips readers can quickly follow. Lifestyle and opinion pieces should include personal stories that connect with readers and provoke a reaction. Ideally, they should leave someone thinking, "I need to share this."

All submitted content should be in a web-friendly format, with clear subheadings, short readable paragraphs, and bullet points where they help. Articles should cover one clear topic or tell one clear story.

Most accepted articles are between 700 and 1,500 words, though we may occasionally accept exceptional pieces outside that range.

We are a non-religious, non-partisan website. Our content does not mention politics or religion unless it is objective information that is genuinely relevant to the article.
