So tell me girls.....
you could probably leave some of them out to be honest not sure what mandy will probably know better
ya got a homemade recipe for me Mandy??
Wow that really is a lot of ingredients. I sort of just use what i have to be honest hun. As i said it is in no way authentic. Although that one does sound very good. I had spring onions (i think you call them scallions?) red pepper (red bell pepper?) paprika, chicken, smoked sausage, peas, prawns (shrimps?) and garlic, chicken stock, and parsley. would have added a splash of white wine if i happened to have a bottle open but wouldn't have bothered buying one and i didn't have any tonight so didn't bother. Xx
they both sound nice i just dont think i would like it if im honest so i never bothered trying to make it cos i dont see the point if im going to waste it
mum2popsnjak said:Your's sounds good! I'm not a big wine drinker but I love to cook with it.... nothing like a good pasta sauce (spaghetti sauce, red sauce?) with a good port in it!! Mike got me cooking with port wine!

I heat some butter and oil (just a small amount in a pan) then fry the onion/scallions and red pepper and garlic in it until just softened (not coloured), then add some rice and paprika (1tsp ish). (whatever you have hun, i used basmati today) coat in the butter and the veg then if using add a splash of wine, and reduce right down to almost nothing. If not just add the stock to cover rice (you can always add more water if it is reducing too much before the rice is cooked) When the rice is nearly there add the other ingredients. I use chicken i have already cooked (either a leftover from a roast or a breast/thigh (whatever you like) that you have already cooked previously for the paella. Then some frozen peas, prawns (shrimps?) and smoked sausage. Just make sure everything is very hot before you serve and the prawns (if using raw) are pink and opaque all the way through. (sorry hun, i'm sure you know this already!)When all the liquid has gone, the rice is cooked and everything is hot it is ready to serve! Then i just add a tiny touch of chopped parsley, and as if by magic mandy's paella is ready! lol It is an easy dish to play around with ingresients you like though hun. Xx
I'm copying and pasting that now to save! I think Mike would really like that too! I'll give you the credit if it comes out good though!
Lol, thanks tammy. I don't mind if you take the credit though hun, you may get a good night out of it if mike likes it that much? lol (would add a norty if i had smilies, playing up again! Xx) As long as you don't blame me if he hates it! haha. I love port in a tomato pasta sauce too hun, yuuuuummmmy! Xx
