High heels for babies! Your views?
Makes me so glad I've only got a son!
I really hate seeing young girls running about in midriff tops and micro minis. Bad enough seeing them on some teenagers without turning toddlers into tarts!
I think it's a cute idea. Most parents, I think, wouldn't really buy them for there kids though. Maybe for a Halloween costume or something. But I'm sure they are selling a lot because (not meaning to offend anyone-ok?) there are a lot more teen mom's these days and I think that's the market the company is targeting.
I don't see anything provacotive about them. They are just a product of high end fashion for babies. Unneccessary, but many well off parents are probably gushing over how their little cuties can now look more elegant at formal events.
I find this trivial compared to childrens bikinis. I would never allow my daughter to sport one till she is in her teens and feels comfortable with them. The tops come up on the girls chest so high it looks like they could be worn as necklaces. Just wrong!
I think they are awful.
I also disagree with kids being dressed up to look older. Let them be children.
I saw a young girl the other day, probably about 7-8 years old wearing a mini skirt, tights and boots laced up to her knees with heels! She had more jewellery on than I own and make up. I thought it was dreadful that her parents were either letting her dress like this or actually encouraging it.
Jas had 'dress up' clothes when she was younger - the usual fairy dresses and wings with little shoes with small heels for around the house or any fancy dress parties we went to.
I have seen places like Next selling totally inappropriate t-shirts for little girls, things like "so many boys, so little time". What does that say about society when you can buy that for a 5 year old!! I think they were highly criticised and they were withdrawn - rightly so.
Childhood is short enough nowadays, I say we cherish it for our kids 😀
I feel sorry for the sales clerks who have to display over-the-top skimpy kids clothes. I used to work at Reitmans years ago. Me and another associate would hesitantly hang up those bandanna shirts that were made for 7 year olds. We would just rant away about what kinds of parents actually bought them for their daughters. We never anybody buy them, though.
Some clothing can seem a bit much but not if you tone them down with more humble clothes. I'm not sure how short you mini skirts are to you, but if you put a short skirt with a sweater or turtle neck and ruffled socks with either mary janes or runners looks nice.
