do you use any other parenting sites?
Buttercup said:Same for me hun, I'm 37 and feel relatively old with all these 'youngsters' talking about clubbing etc!! lol
for me it seems such a bigger age gap as im 34 😲 i know it isnt old but when they were talking about getting baby sitters and go out clubbing i was more interested to get a bay sitter so i could get a good nights sleep

Me too! And I'm a relatively young 29. I know that if went out clubbing I would be asleep under a table by midnight. Not sure where I used to get the energy from.
To go back to the original thread I use babyexpert.co.uk , which isn't so good for general chat but is good if you need advice on anything
I am registered with about 4 or 5 other sites but usually stick to the same one or 2 😀 because I feel more at home there and very comfortable posting.
I feel old at 27 on some (which is why I dont use them)
I've visited a couple of other sites and I joined up to one other one a while ago but I only come on here regularly as I find the people on here welcoming and I like the layout of the forums 😀

i can say from my experience that it seems like younger mums lose friends as a result of having children young because of other young girls not having the same kind of responsibilities. I think this is why there are so many young mums looking for others and you have to build a new network of friends. I didnt do that after i had josh at 20 and i got quite down and lonely as a result. Im that little bit older now and make a point of making new friends who understand the way of life that comes with children. And i guess i'd be more inclined to build friendships with younger girls as i remember not having anyone at that age. I am only 24 tho, so the age gap isnt all that relevant for me. :suspect:
I felt really isolated when Charlotte was born and I didn't want to go to any baby/toddler groups as I feared I would be looked down on. I tried to attend baby massage but found the women all knew each other already from antenatal classes which I also didn't attend. They didn't really try to talk to me and I felt like I was wasting my time and left.
I've now found that slowly, my friends are getting back in touch as they are becoming pregnant, they seem to think I know the ins and outs of pregnancy and parenting LOL!
Interesting ponts here. I had my first baby when I was 19, and found it very isolating, as anyone from my peer group didn't really want to know 🙁
I also find that now being an 'older' mum is also very lonely at times; most of the people in my age group have older children who have moved on years ago from the nappy/toddler/primary school age. Not their fault, of course, but we just move on different paths now..
Add into that the oddity of having a larger-than-average family anyway, and just call me Billy No Mates! 😀 Hence my use of internet forums; I am a member of a few but recently have found it hard to settle down, as my previous favourites have changed drastically. Here has a lovely friendly feel around it though, and everyone seems to be very welcoming!
luv R x

Hi All,
Well alot of you may know I own my parenting site and it does not bother me at all that my members go on other parenting sites. Me being the owner I think its good I am also a member of other parenting sites because I enjoy being.
This forum is really good and everyone is so friendly and like Rob says it may not be mega busy but it is growing and this is what us admin like to see.
You are welcome to come along and view the site that I run and the name is in my profile or if Rob does not object I will post it here.
Infact Rob I am willing to offer a link back service if you want to?
Hope to hear from you soon.
