do you use any other parenting sites?
i`m just being nosey and wondering do you use any other parenting sites?
I was an original member of Justformumz and when it split i became a mamber of both sites. I sometimes go onto netmums as well for a look to see what is happening in my area ð
sorry if this post is against the rules Rob ð
hey hun i use this forum the most but i sometimes take a look on hipp baby and the cow and gate forums, not as good as this tho i must say! i find i can talk to people better on this site! xxx
I used to go on the Mother and Baby forum but I thought it was a bit cliquey. ð
I got a bit sick of seeing threads about falls out and I thought some of the women were a bit rude. Its not my cup of tea, I like a good pleasant chat, which is why I like it here!! Everyone is so much friendlier and they layout is way better!!! I also hated the fact I would post a thread and I was lucky to get a reply, yet if you were an 'established' member you would see 50 replies to a thread about someone breaking a nail or something silly like that!
I sometimes go on Cow & Gate but its months since I last went on.
i use net mums now an then and the other half of this site ð
i am a moderator on another mum forum ð
I used to go on mumsnet alot but a moonth or so ago i asked for advice on my website and got my post deleted for breaking forum rules but there was another member doing the exact same thing but he was well known - found some of the posts on there horrid and god forbid you have an opinion on extended bf, weaning at 4mths or mooncups you would be hounded out of town!!! ð
i use netmums alot as their WAHM section is very useful for advertising, getting info and making contacts. ð
i like here as its very friendly and have not once felt i couldnt offer an opinion for fear of backlash lol!!! ð
oooh im afraid im a bit of a forum junkie ð
i dont see the problem with being on other sites but some members seem to take it personally if you join anything else ðĪŠ
i think the more the merrier ans i have met quite a few lovely people through these sites ð

I have just joined 2 new sites and you seem to get frozen out as soon as you mention you belong to other sites. I always thought us mums joined sites to support each other and not to give the cold shoulder ð
i use net mums to see wots on locally and the nappy shelf, buit dont really go on that 1 mucvh
can some one please msg me sum other sites i need all the advice i can get thank u x ð
i have just signed up to netmums. i think that has more potential for enabling you to meet up in the real world because of them being localised. not that i dont love you lot on my screen!!!!! ð

i emailed a few of them but nothing ever came of it ð
Netmums is just too busy for me!!! Tons of posts all the time I cant keep up with them. I tend to use that for local info, working from home stuff and to advertise my business

As most of you know by now I'm in the US and after a couple of days on this forum I haven't even bothered to join any others. I do like the fact that this is not an overwhelmingly busy forum too. I can keep up here. And I really like the open mindedness that I've seen here as well.

I like the fact that people seem to enjoy this site - it really does make it all worth while and thanks for being such great members!
I really don't understand the attitude that some sites have about their members visiting/participating in various parenting sites. I guess it could be in part a fear of losing members to other sites, but if a community is great and a site is well liked, then there's no reason why members would leave to join another site when they can happily be members of 2 (or more!) I'd like to think that what JP offers is unique in it's own way - and other sites offer other unique things, and each has their own strengths and weaknesses. JP is still quite small (but growing quick!) but what that lacks in shear numbers it makes up for in a closer sense of community, which we'll work hard to keep as we grow and develop.
I can recommend www.netmums.com and www.mumsnet.com - both are great sites with large communities, and both are run by great admins and moderators.
Buttercup said:i can say from my experience that it seems like younger mums lose friends as a result of having children young because of other young girls not having the same kind of responsibilities. I think this is why there are so many young mums looking for others and you have to build a new network of friends. I didnt do that after i had josh at 20 and i got quite down and lonely as a result. Im that little bit older now and make a point of making new friends who understand the way of life that comes with children. And i guess i'd be more inclined to build friendships with younger girls as i remember not having anyone at that age. I am only 24 tho, so the age gap isnt all that relevant for me. ðĪhipmomma said:tried that as well and not that i have anything against younger people all the girls in my area seemed to between 18-20 ð

for me it seems such a bigger age gap as im 34 ðē i know it isnt old but when they were talking about getting baby sitters and go out clubbing i was more interested to get a bay sitter so i could get a good nights sleep ð
