Nooooooooo - i cannot believe they have 'stolen' our name
My mum has just text me to let me know that her youngest sister (who's a year younger than me) has called her baby
HARRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was top of our list and now i am gutted as we had just decided on it a few hours earlier. 😢 😢 😢
lol I guess you're just going to have to go with larry! lol Larry and Harry! 😀
PMSL!!!!!
It's been the top of our list for ages, adn i was so pleased dp came round a few months back and said he loved it!
Back to the drawing board now....
If all else fails, call him Dave, at least then you can laugh at him

Think of it this way. Harry is sich a common name now for babies and you don't want to be common.
I would just wait now and see what he looks like when he arrives and I am sure a name will pop into your head and that will be his name. 😀
Oh no!!! We were going to call Charlotte, James, if she was a boy. We still had it in mind too for when I fell pregnant again, but my aunty had her little boy 6 months before I had George and called him James!!!
We were pretty gutted, but we found another name in the end that we liked just as much, if not even more 😘
Oh no! I'd be gutted. Do you see them alot? Are you close? because if not you could still have Harry.
Very, very true!
We really like Samuel, but i'm not keen on Sam - but any name i like can be shortened to something i'm not keen on and lets face it who would've chosen their name for themselves anyway?
Dp still keeps saying he likes Cain and i really, really don't! I don't want to 'choose' a name for when bump arrives but would like to have a few in mind.
Alex - you are right Harry is much more popular than we first thought - it isn't necessarily where we live but soooo many people keep saying it's at the top of their list or their little on is called that!
It happened the same with me. 5 months before having my dd my aunt named her daughter the name I had chosen. It was the top name in my list. I got so sad but she didn't know about that. It happens! I chose other that I love and I think it's perfect! 💐

The same here (or for a dog?! as in our case we have a Dalmatian called Samson and he gets called Sam now and then!)
My sister has a dog called Sam and a friend has a daughter Samanatha who is always known as Sam.
I have had people try and shorten my name to 'Kris (chris)' and can't stand it either, it's short enough. I do tell them that I don't like it though (got Mike to tell his dad as I didn't want to upset him as he kept calling me Kris, bless him).
Mind you, Jasmine is Jas and Sophie is Soph....so much for that then! 🙃
Exactly Krista...
So many names i love but i do not like the shortened versions!
one reason we opted for Georgia-Mae is because we liked both Georgie or George 🤔
only names i can think of that cant be shortened are:
jacob
jake
jack
luke
aaron
awwwwwwwww hunni. thats pants.
when i was expecting ben i wanted the name kayden. my cousin had a boy and named him jaden. too close lol i want amused
I like Jacob but i think people will shorten it to Jake 🤔
Mark doesn't like it anyway
one name that definately cant be shortened
J (Jay/Jae)
LOL
😊 I don't like working with kids!!!! I am sitting sounding at the computer "NOOOOOO Don't call your child that name or that name!" (just because I know a child with that name and they are a nightmare!!!) lol 😀
I've never met a horrible Gabriel at school, then again it could be considered a bit of a girly name.
