I have a .................
SNOW day today 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
Woohooo school is closed because of the snow 😀
I don't know! What has become of our teachers today when they celebrate an extra day off instead of looking forward to educating our children? 😜
Looks like the bad weather is coming this way this evening which will make my driving to a meeting in Manchester tomorrow lots of fun, I don't think. 🙁

Why do they close shool just bc of snow? In Sweden we had to go in shool even if it was a storm and 1m of snow.
Elin said:Up here in the North of Scotland our teachers come from a huge area (some travel over 40 miles to get to school) and the council and BEAR Scotlands proirity is to keep main trunk roads open and in my area we have to travel along minor roads which are dangerous, therefore many staff find it difficult to get to school, so once they get to a certain number of teachers unable to attend school they cant keep the school open. We also have (in my school) a HUGE number of children who are transported by bus to school, and again the buses wont go along the untreated minor roads)

We only did have if it is to cold we dont have out door PE. Some kids could skip school bc of the taxi bc they did live out in the woods (i did live in a small town).
I guese we are more use to snow bc Sweden is a snow country so.
Elin said:thats probably it. Even though we get alot up here we are not as prepared for it as other countires. At the moment we are a whote out- I cant see the see 100 yards away.

I want to come and live near you, we never get a decent amount of snow here
Alex said:We can't handle it when we get a lot of rain either. And it rains a lot here in the UK. Doesn't say much for the way we run the country, does it?Elin said:thats probably it. We should all learn to drive in the snow/ice, and should get chains for the cars so that we can.
hehehehe lucky you 😀 😀 😀

I want snow!!!!
you can keep the snow alex i hate the bloomin stuff!!! bah humbug! 😇
Although it is melting now we have a new prepared warning from tonight until Thursday night for icy roads and more snow
Its snowed all day here on and off...none of it has stayed for very long though 😉
We have another weather warning for tomorrow!! 60-80% chance of severe snow and blizzards
weve got the same too. so not looking forward to it
Charlotte's on a snow day today, it only started snowing at about 6ish really bad, but now it's raining/sleeting.
It isn't very deep, I wouldn't even say an inch! But the roads are terrible as it's very very icy! We've heard cars struggling up all morning, there's a few had to give up (we live on the brow of a hill, either side is two steep hills). we don't get gritted because we're not on a bus route. The council very nicely installed two grit bins 😉 so you have to grit it yourself (when they've bothered to fill it) without breaking your neck lol! The one at the bottom disappeared after some joyriders misjudged the steepness and careered into the wall at the bottom!
we didnt get any of the snow we were promised (I feel cheated!!!) 🙁
Alex said:OH NO, no fair especially if the said it was going to , you get your hopes for it!
