We got home a couple
of hours ago with our new puppy!! He's so cute. He's a lurcher, he is all black apart from a white spot on his chest. It looks like the name Charlie is sticking. It was a struggle to get the kids to bed they were so excited. I'm just hoping he doesn't winge all night coz we want him to sleep in the kitchen at night but I don't know what he'll think of that
Awwwwww. We have a Lurcher too. His name is Dougal and he is a dark brindle with a white chest 😍 . They are a lovely breed and tend to make great pets! 😀 I'm sure Charlie will fit into your family just great 😀 Xx
Congratulations!!! 😀 Pictures very soon pleeeeeeaaaaazzzzze!!! 😍
Awwww he sounds gorgeous hun 😀
I want another doggy....I'm just not so sure if Martin will be too happy about that lol....I'll have to work on him I think 😊 😉
Here he is, Charlie

OMG he is soooooooo gorgeous 😍 ! I want another one! haha. Xx
OMG!! He's adorable!! That face and those gangly legs!!! He's perfect! 😍
Looks like he's fitting right into the family already! 😀
awwwwwwwww what a sweetie. bless him xx
Yes he does have long legs. We all love him and he seems so happy. The place we got him from didn't realy treat them like pets. They were in a wire pen and had already been seperated from their mum even though he is only 7 weeks today. Their mum was kept out alot of the time so I think he's in absolute luxury here with us. He is being good going to the toilet on the paper we've put down for him sometimes BUT he has taken a liking to pooing on a rug I have in my bedroom 😠
He was great the first night but last night he howled alot as we are keeping him in the kitchen at night. We were tired this morning and Steve was moody! But sticking with it and hopefully he'll get used to it in a few days.
The first couple of nights are always hard aren't they. It is almost like having another baby when they are pups. I'm sure it won't take him long to calm down and fit in hun, he is trying his luck at the moment to see if you give in and let him sleep with you! At least he isn't peeing and pooing all over the house hun? I think you can buy stuff that smells like something they don't like to stop him pooing on the rug? It isn't a horrible smell for humans, just the animals don't like it? Although maybe i have just dreamed that up? Will try and have a look for you if i get a minute and let you know what it's called. If i can find it that is? Xx
I know it wasn't asked for but I'd like to give you some advise.... get rid of the paper, it will confuse him thinking he's sometimes allowed to go inside and sometimes not. Your best bet would be a crate for when you guys are gone and at night even... Big enough for him to grow into but small enough that it would be uncomfortable to be in if he's gone potty in there. I crate trained one of my dogs and not the other one and I will for any future puppy (probably won't be any more pups though, will stick to adopting older dogs at this point)... My dog that was crate trained loved her crate and used it just as a little security area when she wanted to "be alone"... after a while I never closed the door to the crate but she would just go in and lay down and be happy!
Good luck hun, it does get easier!
Tammy is spot on there hun, my fil got a sprocker pup a while ago and she has been crate trained too. It worked really well and didn't take him long to train her at all! She also goes and lies fown in there now off her own back, when she is in there we know she wants so quiet time and a rest and don't let the kids anywhere near her to wind her up! Xx
Awwwww he is sooooooo cute!!!!!
And i agree with Tammy! xxx
Oh my god so so cute 🙂 xxxxxxxx
Awwwww....I showed my hubby and he said 'No you can't have one' 😢
I agree with the cage/crate thing, we refused to get one for Roxie thinking it was cruel, but seeing other people who've trained their pups that way, I would do it if I ever got another pup.
He is sooooo cute hun 🙂
Here he is now, he has grown so much in 2 weeks. He is 9 weeks old today.
Cool 😉 Congrats
Aw he is so adorable...can't help but fall in love with him!! He has grown a lot though 🙂
awww so cute
I agree with the crate training the best thing ever!
We bring him in our bedroom at night now but he sleeps in his own bed in the corner NEVER on our bed atall. He now also goes the entire night without weeing or pooing until he gets woken by the kids in the morning when Steve quickly gets up and rushes him out to the garden.
He has now also learnt to 'sit' and 'stay' while we put his food in his bowl and doesn't go to it until we tell him he can; and he'll sit and then come when we call him. I can't wait to take him out, he has his second jab next week.
