:( izzys pet dying.. died.. :(

izzys got 3 hamsters 2 russian dwarf (i got in dec) and a chinese dwarf (i got last week)

one of her russians is dying she hardly moving her breathing is uneven i managed to get her to have a little bit of water when i put it in her face but i couldnt get her to eat even her fave foods

my ex who brought them is going to come over in the next hour and see whether its worth taking her to the vets or not as she has sudden bursts of life

just thought i would share my sad news with you luckily izzys still a little bit too young to understand and keeps trying to get her to play.

thanx guys i will do she still holding on i dont know how long she been like this as wen i put them in there new cage yesterday she went srtaight into the bed/hide area and i dont know if she come out at all until i decided to open it earlier and found her

i think that your little hammy is poorly, they only live approx 18 months my dads was the same.

i hope that shes not lingering and in any pain. Might be more humane to have her put to sleep. But she may pass in her sleep.

taken the hamster to the vets..

they think it a chest infection by her ragged breathing..

given a shot of antibiotics and im to keep feeding her water like im doing and if she makes it through the nite (which they doubt she will) then im to call in the morning and they will put her on a course of antibiotics..

so heres a long nite ahead of me i cant not try to do everything i can..

yeah were trying but it doesnt look like she gunna make it though she did put up a fight when the vet went to inject her good ol' luce

im not sure up and down she drunk alot of water earlier had a burst of a life and even ate a little and now she kinda sleeping again so im not sure just holding out for another 5 hours til the vets open

she made it through the nite went to vets and he gave her another shot and told me how to make a special water for her to get some sugars and salts in her so its still a waiting game and if she makes it through today she can have another shot tomorrow.. im knackered i had about 2 hours sleep last nite between 6am-8am but as long as i know i done all i can for her then ill be happy in the knowledge that if she dies at least i tried

well she still hanging in there.. dont know how long for looks like i got yet another long nite ahead of me.. i just wish i knew if what im doing is helping her and making her better or if im just prolonging the pain..

i dont wnat to give up knowing there a chance she might beat the infection but i dont want to continue if im just prolonging her suffering and she going to die anyway..

she died at 9.15pm in my hands .. i never had anything die in my hands before 😢

Both my rabbits died in my arms, it does make you so sad that you were helpless to them, but i'm sure the comfort helps them be peaceful in their last moments.
