uk youngest mum

ok im not judging anyone here ive just read closer magazine about amy crowhurst britains youngest mum she first became a mum at 12 to her son alfie whos now 4 then at 15 she had her daughter destiny whos 18 months

as a mum to be it read for some shocking reading im only 21 so i have no clue what its like to raise a child 24 hours a day but some of the things in the article just shocked me

shes 17 has 2 kids no job gets £17,000 in benifits but she says she needs more

she gives her 18 month old diet coke in her bottle
says after food an bills shes left with £30 a week
she pays £25 a week for her council flat
shes never had a job and says there are none in her area
she feeds the kids on mcdonals pizza and kebabs speading at least £10 a week on takeaways says she cant watch the kids and cook at the same time so its eaiser to order in or throw something int he microwave her kitchen is full of fizzy drinks an crisps she buys 2 bottles of diet coke a day to give to her 18 month old and she is unfazed by the additives salt and e numbers in them she lets them eat whatever they like
shes smokes 10 a day and never gave up while she was pregnant
she does not have a clue who the prime minister is
she struggles to get up in the morning to get her son off to school
she says everyday is the same shes gets up feeds and baths the kids tidies up drops alfie off at school then she gets a taxi or a bus to her mums she sees her mates then she come home for dinner which may be a takeaway or ready meal
she says how 18 month old destiny will eat pizza kebabas she not fussy
she puts the kids to bed an watches tv then gets up and does it all again but she claims shes happy , shes single and thinks its will be hard for her to get a boyfriend

once again no judgement here its jsut thease things shocked me 🤢

😠 i wish i had that to live on wot a joke there so much help out there wots stopping her to get a job

i earnt less than that when i was working 40hours a week. i dont like to judge people but im finding hard to bite my tongue on this one 😠

I'm sorry and in this case I will speak my mind. Sorry if this offends anybody. It'll be long and not very pretty but I have strong feelings on things like this.

Okay, firstly young mum's I don't have a problem with, but 12 yo having a kid is just wrong. She should still have been playing with dolls or makeup, or whatever you girls do at that age.

£17,000 in benefits a year is rediculous (£340 a week). Not sure how she can get so much, but me and my wife (when we were together) used to survive on £150 a week plus child benefit. No wonder she has no money left when she spends it on all that take away and catching taxis.

When I moved into my first IT job I earnt £17,000 a year and that was working my arse ragged. That money was good enough to pay all the bills, and have some left over to go out with or treat the kids.

As for the kids diet. Well don't get me started there, but I bet if you put something green in front of them they wouldn't touch it. Mine complain about it, and they were bought up on a better diet than that. It doesn't take 2 minutes to put chicken nuggets and chips in the oven (and I'm a man), and its a lot cheaper than going to MD's.

I feel that in this country there is an increasing element of people who are willing to take the benefit system for everything that they can get, and sit on their arse at home doing nothing. And that they are bringing up there children in that environment such that they think it is an okay way to live. So we are looking at a time bomb. I know there are people that can't work and that for some benefits are the only route, but that should not be a choice but an action out of necessity.

The one time I tried to get help (benefits) 9 years ago I couldn't. I was stuck in a job where my contracted hours were only 7 hours a week but I frequently worked more than 16. As I worked more I was unable to claim income support, but because I was not contracted over 16 I could not claim support as a working person. I got so frustrated with the situation where my employer would not extend my contract to help me out, that knowing how much they depended on me I gave my notice to force them to give me a 20 hr a week contract. I didn't want to be on benefits, but just wanted a little help until something better came along.

I look back now and wonder if I was surviving on such a small amount of money then, where does all my money go now?????

the cost of actually living from day to day has increased a hell of a lot, sounds silly but take the price of a loaf of bread and a pint of milk and i agree on the food thing too, my little horror loves her food (anything goes) i would sooner shove some veggies in a pan for a few minutes than spend my time quing up in the likes of maccyds jus to get an over priced burger with over priced fries that does nothing to fill up a hamster grrrrrr 😠

im the same ive got nothing against teens having kids mr joe is only going to be 19 when paige is born but he goes to work works all the hours god sends im on maternity leave at the moment and i want to stay home with the baby when shes born

12 though all i did at 12 was hang around with my mates sex and boys never crossed my mind

12 is very young, only a kid herself really and i bet she got paid for the interview...

shes in magazines all the time she has been since she first fell pregnant at 12

its like sometimes these magazines make having a kid so young a walk in the park, other pre teens see it and think ooh look a doll and i get paid for doin nothing

Totally agree with Orc30 on all points and i have been in the same position with contracted hours ,there are other very good points too

I don't have anything against young mums but like most of you i find 12 shocking being a parent is not easy as we all know and i sometimes think being a mum is even harder no on gives us a book on how to do it and we don't just wake up knowing but i think fr most of us what we pass on to our children is good life experience and how much of that does a 12 year old really have 😕

This may sound a bit harsh but I think its terrible that this girl finds her behaviour acceptable.
Feeding her child cola from a bottle?! What is she thinking and maybe the question should be Where are her own parents with proper guidance??

i agree about the diet coke thing i drink coke myself and i know its not good for me ,, but there is no way i will be putting it in a bottle for paige

this girls mum is 47 shes also a single mum and has 9 children of her own her yougest only being 5 months older than amys son alfie

amy pregnant at 12 with her mum

with new born alfie age 12

looks older than 12 dont she
any way how does she get that mnuch i am on benefits with 4 kids and only get 200 and i just manage but my children have a balenced diet and things better than md and takeaway
xxx

i aint a clue dont know if her age had something to do with it

I only have 1 baby and I find it hard enough to cope with now, theres no way i could have coped at her age. money is tight for me so i dont see how she affords all the junk food and takeaways.

sad really babies bringin babies up.

I dont beleive what she said about her benefits. Under 16 years old in Wales dont receive anything at all in benefits - the mothers parents (so the grandparents of the baby) can claim child benefit, but that is all until the mother is of legal age.

I am technically a single mum and I have 2 girls. I get £160 a week (£8320 a year) and have to pay £20 towards my rent a month plus my bills food etc. We get by on that but I am careful with my money.

As for the rest, if the article is true, she is an unfit mother. I think feeding a baby coke and giving them ready meals and takeaways should be considered neglect or something.

ive jsut wrote what i read in the mag so i believe its true theres even a picture of her with destiny on her knee filling her beaker with diet coke
