aaarrgghh paige might have chicken pox
just been to get her weighed and asked the hv that was there what the spots are she has on her face neck and back of ears etc she said she cant be sure but looks like chicken pox i hope not so much as shes only 9 months it wll be a nightmare if she has but will explain a lot of things that shes been doing recently 🙁
From what I have been told the younger they have it the better. Mine are 2 and 4 and neither of them have had it, i wish they would get it over with! lol
Hope she gets better soon hun, we all know poorly little mights are no fun 😘
aww hun hope she gets better soon hun! the earlier they have it the better though so i have heard! Mia hasnt had it yet though! xxx
thing is iv been in hospital last few weks shes been with her dad my fiance and we dont no much other kids and he hasnt said about any of them having them or if they did he would av said so its making me think he must have been taking her to other peoples houses with kids i dont no , but since iv been home shes been of her food waking in night etc ... all things she doesnt normaly do
She really could have got it from anywhere. It has a pretty long incubation period. maybe even picked up something the last time you had her at the clinic being weighed maybe?
True Hipmomma 🙂
Also the younger the better both mine had it age 2, once the spots come out she wil feel better thats maybe why she is off her food and waking 😘 hope she gets well soon 🙂
awwwwwwww no hun. but as everfyone is saying the younger the better. none of mine have had them and theyre 11, 4 and 3.
It is definitely good to get them young hun. Am still waiting for my Josh to get them - he's been around it loads but still wont get it 🙁
Hope your dd is better soon
x
Aww, I hope she feels better soon if she does have them. Aaralyn had them a few months after she turned 4, very mildly with just the rash no fever and she felt fine. She had the vax for chicken pox and still got them!
Coolish/warmish baths seemed to help with the itching when it was bothering her.
I know what your going through when izzy was 5 weeks old she broke out in a rash that looked just like chicken pox and wasnt sleeping etc so i took her to the doctor and she agreed that they were as that was the only thing the spots resembled. So i waited and waited for them to clear up and they hadnt so 3 weeks later i took her back to the doctors who gave me some a cream which didnt work so i took her back again a week later and got given a stronger cream and a bath creme and that eventually worked and it was then they told me that it wasnt chicken pox it was a skin infection. So for 5 weeks I had kept her isolated from children and pregnant people and couldnt go and see my friends baby as she was born during this 5 week period. so my best bet is to keep going on at them and keep your mind open that it might not be and they just misdiagnosed her.
My 2 had it over Easter,dd had it first and apart from the spots you wouldn't have known anything was wrong but my poor little ds was much worse. He had so many spots that were really big and loads down below in his groin and even one on the end of his winky. He had a temperature and was so bewildered. Luckily their spots dried out after about 5 days. Good luck, get a bottle of Calomine Lotion in and put your little one in loose fitting cool clothes(pyjamas are good)
Poor Paige. It is true that the earlier they get it the better- they dot know about itching and scratching. I hope she feels better soon.x

Just curious, do you guys have the vaccines for chicken pox over there. It's given here to all babies but some kids can still get them (as my daughter did)... they are now doing some boosters at age 4 because the vaccines don't seem to be working as well.

I'm from the US, the state of Rhode Island. I don't know if the chicken pox vax is a state by state thing here or if it's national. Doesn't seem to be working very well anyway and I had I known she was gonna get them I wouldn't have put my LO through the shot. They do say tho, if they get them after the vax they are not as bad which was true for Aaralyn.
