Welcome to JustParents!
WitchyPoo said:Hi. Just going back p/t evenings just now to do refresher course with English and Maths then hopefully get onto teaching assistant courses. Want to be able to find a term time job working with special needs kids. And yeh it would be good to get out of the house just now.
Hey hon welcome 😘
College will be great, i loved it when i went back, getting out of the house and having someone to talk to about other stuff other than teletubbies LOL what course are you studying?
x x
Im hoping to be a family support worker for kids with visual impairments since my daughter was born blind....tho im stuggling with studying at the moment, but im not letting it get to me *tears hair out* with the OU studying at home there are too many things to use as an excuse not to study lol good luck!
Thanks 😀
I know what you mean about sticking at it. My son was born Deaf and has other probs so its always been easy to put other things to the side. It's taken a while to get to the point where i feel ready to do it but i think since he has started at the school its made me more determined.
I am so proud of him and i think in a funny way i want to do these things so he can be proud of me too.
i know EXACTLY what you mean........my daughter is an inspiration to me, if she can do what she does and come through all she has, then i can damn well do it too LOL
I used to love when my daughter would say "clever mummy" when i got a TMA back with a good mark......I remember getting to the point of being ready to do stuff, it was scary and exciting all at the same time, and it was great to be me for a little while, not just mum, or partner 🙂
It really does make you appreciate things more and give you that extra bit of courage when you see how kids just take it in there stride.
Just heading out now for first class. Challenge number one will be finding the right building then the classroom 😕
If i manage that i am ready for whatever they throw at me 😀 lol
