NEWBIE!!
Hiya I'm Sammi, 20 yrs old and I have a 6month old baby boy called Owen.
👶 I'm just wondering when did everybodys kids start to sleep through all night, Because he still wakes up for 2 bottles but doesn't normaly drink them all before going straight back to sleep. I think he is teething though so I dont know if thats stoping him from sleeping through, But he normaly has 1 bottle at about 11/12 dinner time and has a nap, then he has one about 3/4pm, he has 1 or 2 jars depending on how hungry he is at about 5/6pm, then he has another bottle about 8:30/9:30pm an goes to bed
am I doing this right or should I change something?
I'm just worried that maybe he should be sleeping through and im doing something wrong.
He did have colic when he was born and he has only just got into a routeen with his bottles anyone got any ideas?
😀 Thanks for looking xXx
My two kids slept through at a very early age. I do know that every kid is different though.
Maybe try adding a actual solid breakfast in. Are you giving jars of friut? I also found that they needed something a bit heavier. You could try some of the powdered packed of foods like C&G vegetable casserole. Hopefully something heavier might fill your baby up longer and that might help him sleep through the night.
Hope this helps.

hey darl am jodie am 20 and i have a 21 month old
its hard to know if your doing everything right isnt it.
My daughter slept through at quite young but that doesnt mean that your doing anything wrong, every baby is different. how much sleep does he ave during the day? sometimes if they have alot its best to maybe cut it down a little. and maybe you could try him with a little more food during the day but like i said every baby is different and am sure he will do it eventually! xxx
if he has just got himself into a routine its probabl best to let it carry on for a little while chances are he will decide himself that he doesnt want one of the bottles. have you got a defined night time routine? like maybe dinner story bath pjs bottle then bed. that may help him learn to realise that night time is different from naps in the day and he doesnt need to wake up. is he actually hungry or is it just habit? have you tried leaving him for a few mins to see if he settles him self rather than relying on being fed to help him sleep x
on a night I give him his tea, then I shut the curtains and just have the side light on so it is darker.
I think it may also be because I'm still sorting his nusery out so maybe I disterb him during the night.
I have left him for a while but he still wants the bottles.
I will try adding another meal into his day like a rusk and milk for brecki, see if that makes any difference I'll try that tomorrow.
I'll let you know how we get on, Thanks for your help 😀
My DS was still waking for a bottle at about 6 months and not drinking it fully, I found if I woke him up at around 10/11pm he would drink his milk then not wake up again, unfortunately the routine didn't make any difference for me personally as he was still hungry.
Hope you had a better night last night hun, don't worry I've heard many parents that have problems with babies/children sleeping through the night, all lo's are different. Charlotte slept through full stop at 3 months and was in a routine within days of being home, whereas George didn't get into any sort of routine until he began to wean.
well the extra food hasn't made any difference so I'm just putting it down to teething and if he still isn't sleeping through by 12months then I'll panic lol 😀
