Do kids have no common sense these days!!??
Some of you may have seen my facebook thing on this but..
today after picking my brother up from sixth form at my local high school i was driving behind the public school bus and some kids from the school sat on the back of the bus threw a glass bottle out the window at the car, it smashed on the road and i had to swerve to avoid it which these kids found funny!
Hello is there no common sense.. what the hell are their parents teaching them.. 1. its a criminal offence and 2. what if i hadnt been able to swerve or worse it had hit the car or even worse an adult or child walking along the street!
Then to top it off when the bus stopped i got on the bus and spoke to the bus driver and he couldnt give a S**t he wouldnt go speak to the kids or anything just said they know better and that it wasnt from the bus etc or that i am imaging things or something so i rang the school and reported it to the school who are taking it really seriously they see the same as me lucky it didnt cause an accident or something and i phoned the bus company and they are going to speak to the driver when he got back in from the route and asked me to put it writing so it would be dealt more severely and the school got me to call the council school transport department at the couty council main offices to report it to them.
The guy from the bus company and the school have all said that the driver should have gone straight up stairs and found out who done it and the bus company are putting an inspector on the bus tomorrow and the teacher from school who rang me back said he going to go on the bus and my brother going to school office tomorrow and they are going to get the people on the bus if they dont come forward to see if my brother can recognise any of them.
Sorry needed to rant.. what the hell where these kids thinking.. have i done the right thing reporting it this way? would you have done the same thing? what would you do if you were the parents of these kids makes me question if their parents are doing a good job to be honest especially when they found it funny.. would the kids have found it do funny if it hit someone or if it had shattered the windscreen of my car covering me in glass.. would that be funny to them kids?
I'm glad you are ok hun. What a shock.
It really does make you wonder nowadays doesn't it. I think the basic problem we have with kids today is all the bleeding hearts around who say you can't discipline a child in any way. It will, apparently, cause them to become recluses or psychos. Yeah, right. When I was at school we had the cane. It was a damn good deterrent and yes, the ones who got it tended to get it more than once and were the bad apples but anyone thinking about mischief who wasn't overall a naughty child, would certainly think twice.
Kids today have no fear of authority. They will happily tell a police officer they know their rights! I can't imagine anyone I knew ever even contemplating saying that when I was a child. We'd have been hauled up in front of our parents and got a good smack.
I've seen kids outside our house one the pavement smashing bottles into the road to get car tyres or motorbikes. When I called the police they were just as indifferent about it the first few times but on the last call, they put their donuts down and came out and caught the little 😠 and gave them a right ticking off and took names, etc. They've not done it again.
I'm sure there will be plenty of folk on here who will tell me I'm wrong. However, I've brought up my eldest with discipline (no, I'm not a child beater but I do tell her off, I have slapped her legs once or twice and I've no fear of shutting her in her bedroom and have been known to carry her up the stairs over my shoulder and put her in her room when she's misbehaved badly and not let her out) and she does not act badly with other children, she has respect for adults and she has manners. It's not hard work to look after and bring your child up rather than dragging it up is it.
Gosh, I went into a rant then! Sorry hun!
Anyway, you did great. I think everything you did was excellent and I'm glad to made sure someone took it seriously.
just had a phonecall from the school they got a letter of apology to me from the student who did it at least they caught them and i wasnt assuming that it was one of them im really hoping they are being dealt with seriously and that the parents are informed and they take the matter serious aswell. if that was my child who done it she would be grounded for all of half term as its last day of school day today. now just to write the letter to the bus company..
kids don't always think about their actions, they won't realise until they have something they've worked to pay for, damaged. He probably wouldn't be laughing if saw a horrific accident (well I hope not anyway)!
We used to live very near a local high school. If there were truants on the street, Mart would ring school and the teacher would turn up really quick lol!
Some kids once ran past chucking stuff at the windows (we lived in back to back terraces and you could hear them echoing all down the street), I was washing up at the time and the sink was right under the window. The windows were really old and the whole pane flexed, how it didn't shatter I don't know! Martin was furious as I was pregnant with Charlotte and rang up the school and explained what happened. The deputy head rang us back to apologise (it wasn't his fault personally and I felt it shouldn't have had to be him), they assured us they would address it in assembly and tell them that the consequences could have been a lot different if the window had gone through. They never got to the bottom of who did it though. I was happy though that they didn't just brush it off as nothing.
thats awfull.
am 24 and if i did something like that my parents wouldnt be too chuffed. they'd come down on me like a ton of brcks...
i think people who have kids nowadays dont care for anyone else. they dont see what the kids are doing wrong but if someone else was to do what that child did to you they wouldnt be to happy but its ok for there child to do it to you (if that made sense).
this is my first child and i certinaly would bring this child up teaching it how if you treat folk with dignity and respect etc you'll get it in return and that if you treat folk no not a nice way then people wont help you when you need it.
I got the apology letter who fancies a shock like i did when i opened it..
the kid was in YEAR 7!!! thats like 11/12 years old!!! i was like 😲
To be honest I'm not surprised, the younger ones tend to try to prove themselves, especially the guys, most of them get their knobs out at some point and show the whole class, or sometimes assembly. Then they hump something.
I don't think it's just common sense, they don't have any respect for anyone.
I guess whereas when I was younger it was just the odd handful of hooligans, there are more of them today 🙁
