my poor boy!

hi everyone.
my 18 year old step on has split with his g/f. they were only together for 2 months but she was his 1st g/f and he adored her. he seemed to be ok with it when my husband took him out for a drink and a chat but today i noticed he has been leaving messages on his msn address saying hes going to make it easer for everyone and move and how a litte bit of heaven turns to darkness.
is he just feeling low and sounding off or should i be more worried?
i have emailed his dad at work and told him to come home tonight and spend a bit time wtih his son to make sure hes ok and to talk if he wants to.
i'm worried bout my poor little boy! 😢

Ouch, the first heartbreak is always the hardest...I would think he's feeling very unsure of his future right now, so I think alot of encouragment and some quality time with him, talking through his problem, make it clear you both understand how he feels ( we all remember our first break up right? ) so he knows he's not alone in this. Talk to him about his messages, and see where that takes you...and this is from me to him...

Hey bud, don't get down, think of the future, plenty more fish in the sea matey..got a whole life to lead, enjoy it while you are young enough to ( and I am only 30 so no old git remarks please lol ) it's hard now, but trust me, it does get easier. Good luck for the future.

thanks rich thats great, just what i thought. nice to have a mans point of view. thanks hunnie x

You are most welcome 🙂

As a Mom with boys who will be that age all to soon, all I can tell you is what my Grandma told me once.
One of my Uncles had just suffered a heartbreak and I spoke to her about it, she advised "We only gain as much as we are willing to give. If a relationship does not work then both people were not giving 100% and it was never meant to be."

If he is ready to give 100% of himself to a woman at his tender age, this will not be the last time a girl breaks his heart. Rich is right about the fish and all that but help him see that he has to be clear about what he wants out of any new relationship.

I'll bet as his Mother your a tiny bit heartbroken to see him hurting so. 😘 I hope the coming weeks are full of family time and supporting each other.

thanks sassy. i think he'll be ok, hes off out with his dad tonight for man talk, sure that'lln help x

I remember my first breakup - I was devastated. Hell I'm still devastated each time a relationship doesn't work out!

I'm sure he'll be ok - Men aren't great at sharing their feelings as a rule, but he just needs time that's all.

Everyone feels like it's the end of the world when the one they love breaks up with them, but there are plenty more 'fish in the sea' and the fact that they've broken up suggests they weren't right for each other anyway 🙂

I think Rob is right that men arent as good at sharing their feelings as us women are. Its good to see that you've had a couple of men giving their points of view across as I'm sure they are better placed to do it for your sons point view.

As a mother, just talking and being there for support is as much as you can do. I hope he enjoys his "boys night out" with his dad tonight.
😘

thanks guys.
he's gone out for a drink and game of snooker with his dad, that will probably help and i've cooked him a nice dinner. thanks again u uys! x 😘
