When is the time?

When should the kids begin to go out with friends without parents around??

Street play, or like into town? Mikey isn't allowed to play out with the other children in the hamlet yet, other child his age do, but Mike's cannot be trusted to behave on his own, so until he can it is a firm no for him.

I think it depends on the child and the area you stay.

Joseph is 5 1/2 and has just started walking aorund the corner to my Mums on his own (she watches for him to help him cross the road) he has also been a few times down the hill to the park himself, but I can see the park as there are no houses in front me)
