true story...poor grandma

Grandma decided it was too difficult to choose gifts for her teen grandchildren that they would find useful or fun. So, she decided just to write them each a check and send it in a card, so they could buy what they wanted or needed.
She sent off the cards in the mail, lovingly signed, "You can buy your own gift this year", Love, Grandma.

When she returned home, she found the checks sitting on the kitchen counter, having forgotten to put them in the envelopes before mailing the cards.

I can imagine how her teen grandchildren felt when they opened that card!
