arrrgh! no means no!

Are yours having the hpv vax?

We seem to be getting indudated with leaflets and appointments to have it since we sent DDs form back witholding consent for it (not a good history with vaxes, lots of adverse reactions so don't want to risk it).

😠

All of ours will be having it when they're old enough.

Is that the vaccination for the cervical cancer???

I think my sil is going to have it at some point soon.

With the family history I will be more than happy for my daughter have it later on, but that's me personally.

I'm sure if you tell the drs you don't want her to have it then they should stop sending you leaflets/forms etc. It is probably info overload as it is new 🙂

yes I think it is. If I had a girl she would be having it

Yeah it is the vaccination for cervical cancer, virtually the whole population carries HPV some of us are able to overcome the virus but others aren't and these are the ones who are more likely to develop HPV related cancers. This is why boys need it too, as they are passing it on but cannot be tested to see if they have it, some people say whats the point guys don't get cervical cancer, we don't get pregnant either but we still wear condoms.

I had no idea men carried it too! That's very interesting thank you 🙂

neither did I. I am sure that he vaccine is only available for girks at the moment (unless you want to go private)

I'm glad that by the time my dd will be offered the jab a few years will have passed and people will have a clearer view of it's affects(if any). It's a big thing to allow someone to inject something into your child; and there are arguements for both sides. Of course we want our children to be protected from as much as possible, but then when it's something relatively new we're not fully aware of what could happen further down the line.
I think people who have faced Cancer in their own family or circle of friends will be more anxious to vaccinate their children. I think sometimes when people haven't had a personal experience of Cancer in their lives it seems like "Something that happens to other people".
