Packed lunches??

Joseph has a mix of school dinners and packed lunches. I am fed up putting the same things in his lunch box and wondered what you guys put in your childrens boxes. Maybe I will get a few ideas

Typically he has

A ham/chicken roll or wrap
2 yoghurt tubes (or pouches)- no need to remember the spoon!!
A tub of grapes/strawberries or an apple
and a treat!!!!

He has either a cereal bar or crisps at playtime.

Well Georgie has school dinners, but when step dd was younger i always used to do something 'different' for her on a monday to the usual jam sarnie.

Pitta Breads filled with cheese, or tuna or egg mayo.

Pasta salad (cold in a tub mixed with any of the following: cucumber, sweetcorn, grated cheese, tuna, ham, chicken, and salad cream, or mayo - sometimes red pesto, grated cheese and chicken)

Home made pizza (muffin split in half and toasted cooled and, topped with tom puree and something like ham / pineapple, pepperoni, chicken and sweetcorn, grated cheese and grilled) again left to cool.

Salad with a roll on the side (cubed cheese, ham or chicken, carrots, celery, little tomatoes)

Crackers and spreadable cream cheese (laughing cow or little pots of philly)

How about strawberries and chopped honeydew melon or mango or kiwi?

You can also get fruit flakes in yoghurt coating and they are delicious!

What about pots of custard, or rice pudding, ambrosia does them?

Home-made fruit flapjack?

I'm all out of ideas!!

I like the fruity flap jack ideas 😀

And the pizza (Joseph loves Pizza)

Mike's always has a packed lunch otherwise he would be eating spagetti hoops and nothing else for dinner, normally we will give Mike's some quiche, a yogurt and then a cereal bar/flapjack, sometimes though, normally at the end of the week we raid the fridge to see if we can make some odd yet edible for him.

Becky has some great ideas hun. I also love the fruit flakes and so does lolly! We also do popcorn (home made, so you can control what you put with it or not) if you put in a litle tub it will stay crispy.

Raisins,

Also, frittata is quite a good one. You can put whatever you fancy (or have in the fridge) in it - onions, peppers, ham/chicken, cheese, tomatoes, etc. Then just leave to go cold and serve in a wedge.

Cheesy chicken nuggets, Cut a chicken breast into smallish pieces. Make some fresh breadcrumbs (in a food processor, or even grated if the bread isn't really fresh) mix them with some grated cheese (cheddar/parmesan etc) dip the chiken in a touch of flour (pat off excess) then into egg and finally breadcrumbs. These can be either baked (spray with a touch of oil) for about 20min ish or shallow fried. You can also make a big batch of them up to before cooking and then freeze them. Then all you need to do is cook them the night before school.

White chocolate and apricot rice krispie bars (Anabel Karmel recipe) can give you recipe if you interested hun

mini pasty's

Cheese and Ham muffins (also have a recipe)

You can also buy snack flasks if you want him to have someting hot? They are fairly dumpy and you could put pasta or soup in them?

If i can think of anything else i will post it later hun Xx

If Aaralyn doesn't buy lunch at school, she usually gets a sandwich of turkey, ham or sliced chicken on wheat bread (she wants no mayo or cheese on it, just the meat and the bread) then a fruit (grapes, orange, clementine, strawberries, ect... she loves them ALL) or baby carrots, sliced cucumber and then crackers, popcorn or chips (what you call crisps) and a juice pouch or box.

Lottie is quite fussy so its only ham sandwich for her. She has a fromage frais or a yoghurt tube, a school bar and a tub of sliced apple and/or carrot. She usually eats her apples/carrots during break and sometimes she'll have a pack of mini cheddars/crisps or a couple of biscuits for the way home.

how about there favourite type of jelly with fruit in it or my favourite when i was younger was chopped pork pieces... or even corned beef pieces??
