Infacol vs Gripe Water
Sophie has suffered from a lot of trapped wind - not really colic as such but certainly she needed to pass it! 😲
I have been using Infacol for some time but began to wonder if it really was doing any good. She still seemed to have wind and after it's initial success, it seemed to trail off and didn't do anything.
I've just switched to Gripe Water and BAM! she's away again and seems so much more comfortable 😀
I also like the idea of gripe water in that you can use it as and when and don't need a cumulative build up for the effect as Infacol does. It did surprise me to see that gripe water only lasts 2 weeks from opening the bottle though.
Just wonder if you guys have found any other things that work for wind?
Sophie is not the kind of baby you can wind either. I could pat her all night long and nothing would happen but an aching arm 🙃
i must admit with my eldest (now 13) i tried everything going , thinking it would be better than gripe water but they didnt work in the end on the advice of mother lol i used the gripe water after that i never used anything else with my 3 other children 😀
I just gave Joseph cooled boiled water to drink and it worked 😀
We used gripe water, then we started using bottle bags so that they cannot swallow any air from the bottle when feeding.
i tried infacol with izzy and it didnt work so we got gripe water and used to put a little in a bottle with a bottle with some cooled boiled water and it always seemed to work but she was pretty good at bringing up her wind we just used to have to stand her up straight/or sit up straight on our laps and she would burp within seconds.
i guess i was very lucky with izzy and didnt have many problems with her as a newborn

ooo i preferred gripe water its yummy too lol u can feel it warming ur insides as it goes down - so makes me think its soothing the tummy muscles etc 😀
Both mine suffered with Colic hun. It was horrible seeing them suffer like that. Jake was worse than Lolly though. It was quite strange tbh as they both seemed to be really good at burping and parping but still had colic? I tried infacol, dentinox colic drops and gripe water and personally found that the gripe water worked great 😀 It was cheaper too (although i was also slightly shocked about the 2wk limit before throwing away?) The main reason i preferred it was like you, i wasn't happy having to give infacol with every feed whether needed or not so it built up in their system to help with the colic. I much prefered using something as and when i needed it (which was a lot in the early days - granted 😉 ) I also found that the fennel tea bags you can buy for baby helped mine hun, seemed to help settle their little tummies? As both mine had it past the usual 3mth period infact i am convinced Jake still suffers occasionally now still 😕 🙁 . I hope the gripe water carry's on working for little Sophie hun 😘 Xx
