The last few days!
Well friday started off fine, we got up as usual and it was Lolly's 1st day back at the preschool. Before we left i asked her to go wee-wee and she sat on the toilet but she wouldn't go. She said no mummy, it's too hot? I thought she was just being silly so we went to preschool anyway. All was fine there although she still didn't go for a wee while we were there (last time she went was 4am , she has been waking to go wee in the night since we potty trained her) we left and walked into town for mike to give us a lift home instead of struggling on the bus as we finish in time for his dinner break. when we got home Lolly asked to go for a wee again. I sat her on the toilet and she did a tiny bit and said no mummy too hot again. I realised she must have meant it was stinging/burning? I was starting to worry now though. I kept her drinking because i knew she would have to go eventually. After an hour of this she was screaming and holding herself she was so desperate but she still wouldn't go. I rang the doctor afraid it was a urine infection but he was fully booked so couldn't see us. I was starting to get really upset seeing her like this and had visions of having to go to the hospital for her to get a catheter fitted? God is was awful hering her scream and not being able to help! I ran her a bath so it wouldn't hurt as much when she went and told her to wee in there - no luck - then i tried tickling her, thought she may 'let go' if she laughed - still no joy! Eventually at 5pm 😲 She could hold it no more and went. She was jumping up and down in the bath (i ran another one - was getting desperate! lol) saying 'Yay, i'm going mummy, look at me!' I think once she realised it didn't hurt as much as she thought it was going to she was ok. She has been fine since? No sign of being poorly or of an infection? I tin she must have scratched herself and the wee stang at first but once she got a flow going (sorry tmi 😊 ) she was ok? Anyway thank god that was over!!!
Saturday was Lolly's birthday and mum and dad came down. we had a lovely day playing and opening pressies etc. At tes time i did a little birthday tea and lolly blew out her candles on her cake. A few friends came over and it was a great atmosphere although by bedtime the kids were almost on their knees with tiredness! (along with the adults!) lol
Today mum and dad went back home and we had a great sunday roast (which i have been stuffed from all day!) and popped tomikes sisters to take her cake over! lol. All in all it has been a great weekend. Apart from our friday blip. I just can't believe my little girl is 3 already 😕 Xx
I'm really glad she didn't have a UTI, we don't want a poorly little one, I hope Lolly made a good wish when she blew her candles out. Sunday dinners are just the best aren't they, mmmm.
I hate to think what she wished for? lol. Yeah sunday dinners are fab. We had chicken with all the trimmings - roasties, parsnips, stuffing etc. mmmmmmm i even made homemade jelly and ice-cream for dessert! lol Xx
sounds like you had a good weekend apart from friday with all that stress and worry.. im glad it was nothing major i guess sometimes we girlies get that problem..
Glad Lolly's birthday went well! Time flies doesn't it, I can't believe James is nearly 12- doesn't seem that long ago that he was Gemma's age! I wish it was as simple to please him with a tea party- we are taking him and a few mates out to go bowling (or cinema) and then an "all-you-can-eat" chinese as the meal.
Saying that, it cost me more for Gem's party last summer.
Lou x
oh im really pleased she ok now, nothing worse than lil ones being in pain and upset and not being able to do anything to help
Mandy, I'm so sorry I missed wishing Lolly a happy Birthday 🙁 😊
I'm glad that everything turned out ok with her, I know what you must have been going through. Aaralyn had a urinary tract infection (I guess what you guys call a water infection?) when she was a baby and had to have a catheter.... it was horrible and then again a few times after that first one (kind of a long story involved there, but all turned out fine in that department of her health).
To Miss Lolly... HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY SWEETHEART, I HOPE IT WAS MAGICAL FOR YOU!!!! 🙂 💐 😘
Aww thanks tammy! We had a lovely time. I will try and put a pic up later of her blowing her candles out! 😀
Yep you are right about the water infection hun. Although we do call them UTI's too. I think we have soo many names for the same thing in this country. No wonder it is confusing for other countries to follow sometimes! Lol Xx
