Big changes afoot

Well tomorrow/today sees a big change for me. Whilst my dad's house in Cardiff is still empty and no sign of it going on the market any time soon, I'm going to try living in Cardiff 5 days a week to see how it works for me. This is part of my plan to eventually move back to Cardiff permanently. It gives me a chance to see what it will be like without making a permanent commitment just yet.

It will be a challenge as the kids are remaining here (100 miles away) with the ex, but they don't know what is going on and will see me at home as normal.

This is something I have to do to try and get a life for myself which I just don't have where I am at the moment.

Sounds like a good opportunity if the house is empty anyway. Great you are taking positive action too.

Sounds like the best way of seeing how things are going to work out for you without actually trying to sell up and move EVERYHING there for it not to work.

So far so good. Picked up a cheap fridge yesterday so that I could keep some food fresh. Gas and electic works. Need to sort out a parking permit as most of the street is residents only parking which can prove tricky.

Trying to work out what I haven't got at the moment so that I can pick up the bare essentials as I don't really want to buy too much as I have it all at home already.

The bare essentials for me would be:

bed
kettle
fridge (for the milk)
milk
t-bags 😀

why is it sooo hard to make friends when you move away from an area you know really well as an adult. Children just seem to manage to fit in? I have been living here for 7yr now and i am only just making a few more friends now 😉

Isn't the gym for exercise, if you had a lady then you could do that at home, 2 birds 1 stone 😇

True, but a gym is much easier to find than a lady. 🙁

I've found a gym, and I'm hoping that it will prove to be a good investment as it seems to have a good social element as well. Better be good as it is double what I was paying before. David Lloyd in Cardiff.

Rich says it's not hard to find a lady just look outside, although i'm guessing your more picky than that, as known your luck your look out and it will be an old lady with no teeth (not adding my comment to there) 😇 😏 🙃

Suitable gym- have you seen the new one just down from the bay? It is in same building as the olympics pool (where toys r us is now), think it's reasonably priced too as they were competing with the gym around the corner in Penarth. All new and state-of-the-art!

Entertainment- Cardiff has it all!

Thanks, I looked at the one at the pool and it looked quite good. It was a little short on the free weights which I use a lot. The other down side was the location. There will be a lot of traffic to get there at the times that I want to go. I've also used the one in the Cogan leisure centre (if that is the Penarth one that you refer to) and although the equipment is good it is very small. I've paid the price £68/month and gone with David Lloyd as I think that there is also a chance of me getting a bit of a social life there too, which I desperately need.

I know Cardiff has lots of entertainment, just need to make some friends to go out with now!
