Soup - I need your help with the sling!
Oh my goodness. I got my beautiful sling this morning and Sophie HATES IT!! ðē
I looked at the Instructions for use and I've got it right but she seems lost in it and doesn't like her head covered up. She's probably not quite strong enough to face out yet.
Also, the sling is very warm and within about 5 minutes of me trying her in it she was very hot and she only had a vest and babygrow on. I guess I need just a vest when we're in the house then? We keep our house around 20 degrees anyway.
I need your help Soup. It seems such a nice idea but I also feel it looks like it's suffocating her almost and I need to fold bits of it back to give her some air.
I must be doing something totally stupid ðŽ
Help... ðĒ
Awww huh, bless her! I always fold it down at my shoulder to tighten up slack and it allows you to turn down the front, for her face to show. Hope you can understand this ð Hopefully she will adjust to it for ya.
Aww hun, poor sophie. I was hoping this was the perfect solution for you. Fingers crossed Soup will be able to help you when she reads this! I hope sophie gets used to it in the meantime hun Xx
Im siure Soup will help you when she is back.
i did eave some messages on face book for you
charlie didn't like being laid back in it straight away either and i freaked out abit too but you will both get used to it
start her off sitting up in it - ive only ever put charlie in this position so far as i thik they are abit too young to try andything else
when she falls asleep you can open it up so she lays back abit inside OR put your hand inside and slide her bum and legs more over and give her head more room to lay back in
after she realises how comfy it is she will not fuss as much, also to stop her from fussing try bouncing abit or moving your shoulders from side to side to rock her and settle her abit
depending on charlies mood at the time i can sit on the pc or wash up with him in it or watch tv sometimes if he is happy enough but other times he can start to squeak if i sit down for too long as he wants me to move him (its probably because he wants to sleep)
generally speaking babys in slings need a layer less than other babys because you share eachothers bodyheat ð and you might find you will need a thinner jumper plus the fleece makes it snug
when she does fall asleep and you've popped her back inside it a bit you could support her from underneath and lift her with one arm and with the other take the sling off over your head and then just lay her down gently in her cot keeping her in the sling and it just becomes a nice snug blanket
errrm trying to think what else
you do have the seem level with your belly button dont you ? because i read all the instructions and still put it at my shoulder ð
I may have got the hang of it now thanks to help from the other forum. Here's a picture of me with Sophie trying it out. I didn't realise that you could have one side higher/lower than the other ðĪŠ
She's still not keen on it and I'm not sure what you mean by folding it down. I can't get her out of it easily (maybe that's just practice though) so I think slipping it off my shoulder and laying her down whilst kind of still in it is beyond me ðē
It's getting there though. She only wears a babygrow and vest in the house but with the fleece sling, I think she'll only need a vest whilst she's in it as she gets hot quite quickly (house kept at around 20 degrees).
Yes, I did put the seem on my shoulder at first ð I thought that's what the little 'bump' in it was - to fit on your shoulder neatly ð
I look a bit shocked in this picture as I had forgot I had red eye on the camera and was walking towards it after the first flash when it flashed again ð
you look like you are doing great
i done exacty the same as you but i put it on in the house and took him in it to the shops and i soon realised that there isn't really a set postion
everytime he goes in it his at a different angle
he also fusses abit forthe 1st minute or so bu like i said before i find if i walk around abit he settles
