Paranoid pregnancy
I'm hoping to ask for some helpful advice.
I was paranoid throughout my 1st pregnancy and hope to be different second time round. My husband and I are trying and my problem is with my job as a Healthcare assistant, i'm worried the risk of lifting heavy equipment and patients may have on any new foetus, any advice would be grateful. 😕
all you can do hun is inform your workplace when you finally fall pregnant - then they need to do a risk assessment on your place of work and the equipment you use.
Until then hun theres not really much u can do.
🙂 Thanks for your advice, I hope when it does happen things will be ok. My son turned out wonderful so fingers and toes crossed.
I was working in a Nursing home when I fell pregnant with my dd. I'd had a m/c the previous year so was scared it might happen again and told them I wouldn't be lifting anything heavy from then on. Unfortunately, they weren't at all sympathetic, so in the end I left as my baby was so much more important. I know this isn't a practical solutio, but some employers just don't make things easy for pregnant ladies.
I am too ttc no 2, but Arn't working now so apart from a heavy 2 year old, won't be lifting at all!!!!!
Thanks for your assistance, I'm sorry that your old employers weren't very good to you at all. I work within the NHS so that won't be an issue, but my concern lies with before knowing if I'm pregnant or not, what damage could be done without my knowledge!!
😀 Good luck trying and maybe we could both be lucky real soon. My son is 2 as well.
Hi I had a stillbirth in 2005 and now got a 9wk old. Well when I got pregnant with my 9 week old baby I wasbyhe same. Well I didn't work but was very worried all through my pregnacy somthing would go wrong. I didn't children touching my bump etc. If I slightly knocked myself I would be worried. Knowing me I would have given up my job because I would be worrying too. I had worked in retail so if I had of got this somerfeild I applied they would have told them no lifting just put me on the till. Whats your job? If its stressful? I also worked in tesco and if I was pregnant working there well I know even I would be put under alot of stress because being on the and watching 4 shoplifterswould stressme out.
Just try not to let anything stress you out and tell the managers etc.
Thanks for your concern and useful advice. You are very brave to have carried on with having children after having a stillborn, I honour you!!!!
My job can be very stressful but I have spoken to colleagues and they are planning to help me as much as they can and prevent unnecessary stress.
Ok wish you all the best with your pregnancy. Make sure they do help you though.
Take it easy try not to stress and congratulations.
