giving blood

just wondered if anyone else here was a blood donor? ive been giving blood regularly since i was 18 and will continue for as long as possible im no fan of needles but its for a worthy cause.

Hiya I would give blood but they wont let me as ive got an underactive thyroid so on tyroxine.

They could do with my blood as i'm an O neg!

MY partner and his dad give blood regulary - i cant atm - pregnant 😜 but i dont think they would take mine as im aneamic?! Im not sure but everytime ive gone to go ive either been prg or had a peircing done so cant go for a while! but will look into it when i can after having this bubs!

i thought they took your blood now even if you take levothroxine as long as your levels have been stable 😕

I would like to but I don't know if they would take me, I was told years ago I couldn't because I'm sensitive to anesthetic.

I've given blood since i was 18 but not for the last few years. Went on honeymoon to carribean then been pregnant for forever!!

It really does make a difference and i'm looking forward to being able to do it again. This has reminded me to find out when our next session is.

im O neg and should give blood but i'm put off by how hard it is for the nurse to get a little bit from me!! Im a nightmare, veins are deep routed and have been known to collapse sometimes during a blood test! Also put off by the fact they dont do it in our town any more you have to travel to donate

I haven't yet as I've been constantly pregnant for 6yrs (well it seems like it).
