every mothers nightmare
id just got off the tube and was walking down the platform and the doors started to beep for closing. a mum jumped on but only one of the girls she had with her made it on before the dorrs closed
it was horrible to watch because the mum and the sister were banging the doors and screaming with sheer panic (insted of pulling the alarmbefore the train pulled out) and the girl who got left behind had no idea what to do
it all happened right infront of me so i told the girl not to panic and to take a seat, i told her that mum will just go to the next stop change trains and come back for her, so i waited with her whilst she calmed down
she was very shy and quiet i think she was about 7
i went to the help thingy and pushed the button to speak to the office i told them what had happened and that i was with her and id stay untill themum came back they said that they would sendthe station manager down
so after another 5 mins i explained what happened to the staff and they took her up to the staff room to wait and said that they would put announcements out
so i said goodbye to her and left, im sure everything worked out but i just wish i knew for sure
ds1 was horrified by the whole thing, he has actually had a nightmare about this exact situation before so i knew he was going to worried by it, ive spent the whole walk home promising i will never do it to him (im always really carefull because of the nightmare he had anyway)
Oh my god, that is awful. I bet the mother was beside herself with worry. I'm sure she was back again a few minutes after you left but it must have been a horrible situation forall concerned and not very nice for you to see either! It was lucky you were there though and not some weirdo, or anything could have happened. A similar situation happened to me as a child, we were upstairs on a london bus (I am from london, only moved to Devon 6yr ago) and the bus stopped for us to get off, i was last coming down the stairs. Mum and my brother got off, but the bus driver pulled away again before i had got all the way down the stairs! I can still see the panic in my mums eyes as i got to the bottom of the stairs and saw her face as the bus was heading for the next stop 😲 . I was around 6 but i can still remember how horrible it was 😭 . I got off at the next stop and waited, mum was there in a matter of a minute or so as she ran all the way to the next stop (which prob wasn't very far tbh) but it was still something i will never forget. Hopefully your ds won't have any more nightmares about it happening to him Xx
OMG, I would have freaked being the mom! I'm sure it was all fine after you left, but I would be feeling the exact same way as you were 😘 The little girl left behind was lucky you were there for her!
Oh my God that would be one of the most terrifying things ever. I bet that poor mother was hysterical, it's not so much the children's actions you worry about but more who is about with them.
Lets hope all is well and she they were soon reunited
She was very lucky to have you there hun 😘
I hope they were re-united safely, I would have been terrified if it had been me 🙁
It is awful - but had she not been in such a rush 🤔
The number of people who rush onto the trains as the doors are beeping..
😲 how scary for everyone. I hope they are all ok now and your DS doesnt have more nightmares about using the tube. 😘
omg it was good you were there, poor little girl i bet she was so frightened
im so paranoid about that happenig when we went but good you kept calm and waited with her.
im sure mum would have been pleased to know you were there
thats terrifying i couldnt imagine what i would do if that happened to me but then i wouldnt do that with kids for that exact reason i done that on the tubes when i havent had izzy in tow and been with mates its not like she would have had to have waited hours for another train they run every few minutes

Gosh, how scary for the mum and the little girl. Glad you were there hun.
Years ago when Jas was about a year old we were walking into town when we saw a little boy of about 2 standing on the edge of the road. We didn't see a parent around so I went up to him and asked where his mum or dad were. He said he didn't know but thought they were the other side of the road. I suggested he came with us into a shop and we'd see if we could find them and introduced him to Jasmine as we walked along. We took him to the nearest shop who informed the shopping centre security that he'd been found. My husband decided to have a quick look around to see if he could spot someone looking panicked - which he did very quickly about 2 minutes away. He brought the dad back to the shop with him and he was delighted to be reunited with his son. He'd turned his back for a split second in a shop and his son had disappeared.
I 'lost' Jasmine once in M&S in Guildford. She was 8 at the time and had followed a lady who was changing a size of clothing for me and got 'lost'. I freaked completely and she had only been gone for about 1 minute. I told her off for wandering off and made her cry. I felt really bad about that but it was only because I was so scared as to where she'd gone or what had happened to her. You can't help it can you.
OMG that must have been awful for both mother and daughter.Lucky you were there for the little girl or who knows where she might have wondered of to??
