Should i/we do this(i think i will anyway )lol
Justin and i were wondering what we will do with all our baby furniture etc when we are done with it by next year????
We dont really have much room to store it and all our family/friends have there own furniture etc so its not worth us keeping it to pass it on as there is no one to pass it on to.
I was going to give it all to our local charity shop but after going around and having a look at what they sell things for i feel its not right i dont want someone that really needs these things having to pay for them:p
So Justin sugessted we keep our ears open and give everything to a family/parent that have nothing. My cousins work in two different hospitals (in nicu wards)and have and are always telling me that there are some parents that dont have a thing for there babys and the councellers/social workers have to organise cribs etc.So we are going to give it all away to someone that needs it.
We worked out that all together its about $6000 worth of stuff and its all brand new.
(we are going to try and keep it all in good condition as much as possible).
I feel really good about this 🙂 .
I thinbk that is a great idea.
We have family centres over here where they help parents who are struggling, parents of multiples births, parents with ASN children etc and I have donated things to them (clothes, toys) and I know they take baby things too to help out families. They are grateful for anything they get and I know that Joseph's old stuff is helping a child/family who might not otherwise have.
Thats a really lovely idea, I am sure someone will be exremely greatful
What a great idea hun, a family who may be a bit down on their luck will be very lucky to receive such lovely things, and you will have the added bonus of knowing you have helped someone less fortunate than yourself (which is a great feeling) and that all your furniture is being made great use off! Everyone's a winner! 😀 Xx
thats such a beautiful idea hun. you make a family very happy xx
wow thats a very generous thing to do well done
You should feel very good about that guys!!! 😍 😀
I think it's a great idea, and coming from someone who didn't have a lot of money when I had Aaralyn (none really LOL) I appreciated every little thing people gave me.... I know there are families out there in so much more need than I was too!! In turn, because of your kindness, maybe that family will be able to pass those things down to another needy family!
Way to go J's!!! (Jo and Justin 😉 )
thats a great idea im sure youll not regret it 😍
Thats a great idea. What a wonderful thing to do 😀
I sold a cot on eBay for £1 (starting price, ha, ha) and I'm glad it worked out that way as the people who turned up to collect it were clearly somewhat hard up and were absolutely over the moon with the cot as it was in pristine condition. I felt kinda good about it 🙂
That's a very kind thing to do for people who may be struggling to get on their feet with a new baby.
Thats brill hun 😀
Thanks guys,i have also washed and packed alot of newborn clothes (some havnt been worn at all)that i will also give away,i cant believe Sam is already in 000 size clothes he isnt getting much wear out of the newborn clothes at all.
That's a lovely thing to do. I'm far too much of a sentimentalist and couldn't get rid of my kids baby stuff, but I think it is great that you can, and much more worthwhile than my hoarding!
oandjmum said:I did struggle with the sentimental side of it at first, but i just know that im doing the right thing.(my husband is a HUGE horder as well lol)he is going through a cleaning frenzie at the moment so i think he might be actually breaking the cycle LOL. 🙂
