Amazon's new 'Frustration free' packaging
I noticed today that Amazon.com (The US store) have started a 'Frustration free' initiative where they're getting manufacturers to produce east to open, recyclable and waste reducing packaging for some of the products they offer. Apparently their aim is to roll this out over all Amazon sites worldwide and for all their products.

What are your thoughts! I've cut myself before on the impossible-to-open plastic shell packaging on some products, so I think it's a great idea. I've also experienced the nightmare of trying to get a toy out of a prison of dozens of wire ties and bits of plastic on Christmas morning while Ben waits impatiently to play with his toy ("Daddy! I want to play with it now!" - "Ben, I'm not playing with it, I'm trying to get the thing open!!" lol)
Of course, I imagine that this type of packaging is cheaper - so obviously there's also a profit motive for Amazon and their suppliers, but maybe that will lead to even better prices online? 🙂
love it! I know what you mean about opening toys they are terrible!
I would def order from here just to get the easier wrap, great for christmas presents and it's GREEN, less waste 😀

what annoys me more about this impossible to open plastic shell is when im out and somethings broke so i rushed to teh shop to buy something to fix it straight away before i get home and im sat there trying to open one of them shells without scissors or a knife and trying to use a key to open it with and get scratches/cuts on your hands trying to rip a hole in it to get it out. The government keeps telling us we have to recycle maybe they should start with the businesses and manufactures and ban them packaging their items in this plastic shell and tehn more people will be able to recycle even more
