It went with a bang!
We went to see the fireworks tonight in town. They were great 😀 Soooooo pretty. Lolly absolutely loved them, she was shouting "Look, mummy. . . Look. Pretty lights" every time one went off (Which was A LOT!) haha. She was craning her neck in her carseat all the way home trying to look out of the window to see if there were anymore going off. It was so funny.
Jake wasn't remotely interested, i think he thought we were all mad, taking him out in the cold to look at flashing lights in the sky? haha. . . Can't win 'em all eh! Xx
Awww i love fireworks to.Im glad Lolly wasnt afraid of the noise Vic still jumps when they go off.lol
I love fireworks!! I'm glad that Lolly loved them and that's great that Jake wasn't fazed by them!
we got ours on Saturday cant wait!
What is the holiday or occasion for the fireworks happening over there?
It's Guy Fawkes night hun or just plain and simple 'fireworks night' as most people call it. Not sure if that will mean anything to you though? It's sctual date is the 5th November but it is celebrated on the weekend before or after that date. Xx
I'm gonna keep buggin ya on this one.... who is Guy Fawkes and why does he have a special night with fireworks in his name?? Forgive ma ignorance!
That's ok hun, wasn't sure if you would have heard of this or not. He basically (to cut a long story short) tried to blow up the houses of parliament in London in the 1600's (i think, sorry if my history dates are a tad out people) anyway he didn't do it and we now have fireworks to represent this. We also make 'guys' (either dress models or make the shape from paper or something and dress) and throw them on a big bonfire. It all sounds a tad nasty when you read it like that. 😲 Sorry! haha Xx
Well, thank you for the education!! It does sound a bit nasty but an interesting piece of history that I've never heard before!
It is celebrated in other parts of the worls too apparently? For the last 11 years they have celebrated it in Westerly, Rhode Island too! It was 1605 the plot, so as you know Tammy hun. Xx
I love watching fireworks! I recall taking my nephew when he was two and he was terrified. Poor thing cried because he thought it was going to come down on him. Everyone at the park thought it was the most adorable thing. 🤔 I just felt sorry for the little fella so we didn't stay long.

I think one of the best fireworks I have seen was at Niagara Falls last July, it was Canada Day fireworks. It was simply beautiful.

We are having some in the garden for the kids on Thursday but no loud ones hopefully.
We will go and see some fireworks when they turn the xmas lights on in Pudsey in a couple of weeks too 😀
