Halloween Scrooge!!

i feel so guilty now! i was a right halloween scrooge lastnight, i put a sign on me door tellin em dont knock on and i didnt dress ethan up or anything nor take him out! i just didnt have the energy or anything! i normally decorate the house and stuff and always stock up on sweets for the kids but this yr i was a bore... we were invited to a halloween party too which i turned down! il put it down to me only just having josh and just recovering from flu... still doesnt help the guilt feeling iv got tho as i never did anything with ethan! was anyone else a scrooge this halloween lol or was it just me!!?? 🤔

Awww, don't be too hard on yourself hun. I'm sure Ethan won't be scarred by your lack of Halloween enthusiasm this year, and who could blame you with a two week old baby. I would think you were doing great if you were even up and dressed by the time it got dark!

I've been a scrooge a couple of times at Halloween 😀

Once when Jas was about 5, she found the whole thing terrifying so we didn't answer the door at all.

This year we just turned all the lights off in the front of the house and curled up in the lounge with Sophie. We had no intention of dealing with endless trick or treaters. Either we had none come round or the darkness worked as we didn't get a single knock at the door!

I also don't mind for the little kids doing it but we get a lot of teenagers round here who do it and they turn up in a group of 5 or 6 and only one of them has a mask on or something! If you want sweets or money, at least make an effort! 😜

Hayley, I think it's very forgivable under the circumstances... you've just had a baby and you've been sick... I say you're off the hook and stop feeling guilty about it 😘

I don't think you are a scrooge. I always sit at home with the lights off and ignore the door- I don't mid the little kids but I hate when the teenagers come for money so I just avoid the situation.

You have just had a baby early, which would be a shock to your system and I have had this flu virus and I know I am still feeling after it so you nust be feeling horrible.

I think we can let you off this year, next you got no excuse!

Yep I can see it now, Kev stays home and gives out treats with Joshua and you take Ethan out for his first trick or treating!!!
