Yay the council man has been
The council men came round this morning to check over the place before giving the go ahead for my exchange, i only have one thing they want me to sort which is put the spring action arm back on my front door, hopefully a 5 minute job for Rich to do, we took it off as it was a pain carrying shopping and managing the pushchair when the door kept slamming back on you.
The other lady has to replace her kitchen door as she took it off and needs a window replacing, she contacted the council about the window and they are charging her £109 for it.
Hopefully this can get sorted and then we will contact council tuesday to get an appointment to sign for the keys, roll on our new flat 😀 😀
Aww yay hun 😀 doesn't sound like too much work for you. Its great it is happening early on in your pregnancy too. You wouldn't want to be moving at 8mths or so! Really pleased for you hun, i'm sure you will love it 😀 Xx
Well Rich is due an operation 5th Nov and has been told he wont be mobile for about 2 months after so ideally we need to move before then, otherwise its a case of relying on other people to help, which isnt a problem as we have had few people other their hands anyway, so let's just see how long it will be before the repairs at that end are done
How cool. What's your current place like and what's your new place like? Is it bigger? or a better location for you?
We are on the exchange list but of course we are in a 2 bed place wanting a 3 bed place and those kind of exchanges don't come up very often!
GOOD LUCK
brill news hun. good luck 😀
We are moving froma 2 bedroom flat on the 8th floor to a 2 bed flat on the 1st floor, there isnt much difference in space but the living room has a seperate bit coming off of it which used to be a balcony but all the balconies there were blocked in, but this can be used as computer or toy room.
The kitchen is smaller but that doesnt bother me as my one one is to big for the amount of time we use it
Sounds nice, good to hear it's all moving along so quickly!! I hope you guys get in before Rich's surgery!!
woohoo 😀
Fantastic news 😀
Great news - good luck! xx
Good luck.xxx
The only problem with moving is that the new place doesn't have an active landline fitted so to transfer out internet will be about 6-8 weeks based on what it was when rich mum moved (we are with the same provider) and we have to pay for the line to be activated which is £120 which is a pain but hopefully we can work it
Good luck hun, hope all goes well.
My friend moved into a flat and would have had to pay that but she decided to get mobile broadband instead.
its a good idea but i dont think you get the landline with that, which we use often as rich mum on a more expensive netwrok on mobile but we get free landline calls to her so in that respect its worth doing
Update:
Spoke to the council today and we have to go and sign over tenencies on Wednesday 12th Nov at 3pm so hopefully be moving the weekend after which is the 15th, just means we wont be online very often as it take a while to get the internet transferred but my mum and brother have internet and so does rich mum so we have our ways haha
Been to the council and we can move when we are ready, but just been let down on a van so now got to wait until 22nd of nov until we can get a van 🙁
we are all packed and ready to go, only got clothes and kitchen stuff left to pack
Also Rich has just rang our internet providers and they have dropped the price to get transferred from £120 to...... £29.99
Huge difference and they wont take payment until jan/feb, so three moves after we move. Just waiting to get given the date of transfer now. They said we will be disconnected between now and 10 working days time, so if we randomly go with no warning then that will be why
