Paranormal experiences
As some of you are getting the hint of, I'm really into the paranormal. if you want show share your true stories feel free to do so. But nothing fictional because I find the false ones kinda watered down.
But I guess I'll go first and tell you what i have witnessed.
When I was about 9 or 10 I lived in an apartment on the main floor in a small apartment block. The half basement was literally a typical unfinished storage/ laundry space. It was dim and dingy and it had a very creepy presence down there. The otherside of the basement I'm guessing was a crawl space, but something kept giving me a heads up that it was not all earth but an actual room. I remember mentioning this to my mom when we'd do the laundry. I was absolutly terrified to go down there by myself. I wouldn't even get entirely down the stairs when I start to feel someone watching me. When I would turn to run back up I could feel the presence following me. I was confirmed the building was haunted when I was dancing in my room with my radio at a decent volume and I could hear from my doorway an elderly womans voice saying "wow, she's a good dancer" and I could just make out an elderly man reply "mm hmm" like he was agreeing. The womens voice was loud enough for me to immediatly stop and look that direction. I searched everywhere to find out where it could possibly come from.
Aniother experience of mine was when I was in junior high. I lived in this house and just so many things have happened because me and my friend were stupid at the time and played ouijie. Almost immediatly we were seeing things happening that shouldn't of. After playing we didn't close of properly and the spirits stayed around. We both saw appartiions once and saw things written on the wall. We had quickly wash the writing which was done in lipstick before my mom and her husband at the time came home. Luckily we were never harmed, but once I was loading the dishwasher and my friend came scurring into the kitchen a moment later a pair of scissors flew quickly right past her head and landed in the table in front of her, just narrowly missing her ear. Now, we were the only ones in the house because she was the only friend that would come over and it was summer break and my mom and her hubby were at work. I would ahve thought that all the poltergeist activity that was going on was because of my high stress level with living with that jerk of a step-dad and caused psycho-kenetasis. But me and my friend have both seen 2 different appartions at different times. But perhaps it could be both true for now I have stressed caused prolactinoma.
my oh's parents house has a 'ghost' he lets you know if bad thigs are goin to happen by turning the light off in the toilet. i know as it happend to me on a sunday, on the monday i had a miscarrige.
my parents local pub is also haunted. we were there once and a john smiths glass jumped off the table. it app happens alot off the same table but has to be a john smiths glass. also a bottle of vodka was thrown from the optik. the last landlady had a medium/spiritualist in who took photos of the area where the table is and an orangy flame type aura showed.
im a sceptic 🤔
I think my daughter has them alot to be honest with you.... too many circumstances to list at the moment...
I've had them too... I know one apartment I lived in that was once a make-shift hospital for civil war soldiers, it was haunted with a woman spirit, always felt a very nurturing spirit around and my nephew saw her when he stayed with me one weekend when he was about 9 or so years old. He saw her and thought it was me... I was in another room... he's special needs and doesn't have it in him to tell a lie so I believe him wholeheartedly!
Maybe it was florence nightingale. She's not scary at all.
I'm a bit of a sceptic myself to be honest but I do know things in the house got a bit 'weird' when Mike came to live here. He's very open to these things and his parents house is haunted by an old man which all the family take in their stride.
I have 'seen' what I can only describe as a shadow that appears in our downstairs hallway kinda walking around. Mike has seen it too numerous time and Jas has noticed it. Jas had a bit of a period when she said she was sure I was standing behind her in her bedroom a lot and used to come and find me to see where I was at she was a bit confused.
I did have a walk to the old abbey at Ripley with my step-sister when we were both around 19 and she was telling me that it was haunted and I was teasing her and asking the ghosts to come get us (as you do 😊 ) and it suddenly went from bright sunshine to pitch dark and started raining. She panicked and we ran for home side by side. When we got into the house my mum looked puzzled and asked what had happened. We told her I'd spooked Hazel and she said no to look in the mirror. We were both soaked on our hair only on one side of our centre partings and nowhere else. Even our fringes were soaking on one side and bone dry on the other. I can't offer any explanation for that.
My mum was very into spiritual stuff (she was Austrian) and used to regularly do the Ouija board until my dad banned it from the house when my elder brother asked some rather stupid questions of it which came to pass but I was too young to recall that first hand.
It's a subject I find intriguing but I think all these dreadful haunted house TV programmes really make the whole thing into a bad joke.
Some of those shows like most haunted and ghost trackers on YTV are a bit lame. You never see full on activity or apparitions on Most Haunted. and those stupid orbs are, to me, not of paranormal nature. Plus doesn't that lady on the show look like she's rackin'in the dough.
The other shows like Ghostly Encounters and A Haunting are all based on events being retold by the people who experienced the worst of hauntings. The recreations make it really terrifying because they use extra special effects.
If your a big sceptic but want to be intrigued without listening to unproven personal experiences then watch Ghost Hunters. They are a team of sceptics like you who answer calls to haunted locations. There main concern is to prove that the place is not haunted. The only way they'll admit there is ghost is if they can capture the evidence on video or EVP recordings. They are professionals and take their jobs seriously, but they do get to pull a few tricks on each other and there is plenty of drama between some of the team members.
glowingsun said:I've never watched the show but heard of it... aren't they out of Rhode Island?? I think it was them that did a "hunting" in an old historic house that had a keeper's cottage next to it that I almost moved into... that would have been interesting as supposedly the main house was very much haunted.

They're The Atlantic Paranormal Society. (T.A.P.S)
There are other teams all over Notrth America that are connected with T.A.P.S who share the same investigation philosophies.
My uncles old house was haunted, I saw a monk sat on his bed, but hovering just a few iches above it, reaing what must have been a bible, turns out his house was built on an extended grave yard.
We used to live in My great grandmas old house (we bought it from the family when she passed away) and that was haunted by a young boy. My mum and my grandma hated the 'feeling' there, although I never felt frightened by it. Many people used to comment that they felt freaked out on the stairs. It would often suddenly go cold, but nothing really happened until we had Charlotte. We used to hear her chattering in her cot and a few times we knew her cot had been moved, but it never worried her. The dog would sometimes watch things that seemed not to be there, but I'm not overly sure she was seeing anything paranormal. Things used to go missing and we knew we'd searched in the place it turned up in! Things only got a bit mad when we were moving, in the last 2 weeks of us being there, there was no doubt it was haunted, important paperwork would dissapear, the kitchen cupbaord full of glasses just fell off the wall and the dog was crazy, she was hiding all the time and I actually saw the young boy on the top of the stairs!! We weren't actually told about it being haunted until we moved out. I remember my mum saying that she could tell us now but it was haunted and we just laughed and said yeah we figured lol.
Also when I was giving birth to George we think my great grandad (my mums granddad) visited me. I didn't say anything for a while because I wasn't sure if I'd hallucinated or had become confused, and also a little worried whoever it was had come to take George away (he was in a lot of distress and his heart beat dropped very dangerously). My mum later mantioned how her and the mw were shouting at me to concentrate on pushing but I was away with the faries. I then explained I'd seen a man walking up and down the living room and that he stood in the doorway between my dining room and front room and then seemed to disapear when the paramedics arrived. I explained what the man looked like and my mum went really quiet and said I'd more or less just described her granddad! i've never seen a pic of him so I can't be sure it was him.
Wow that was long lol!!
I have seen a few spirits myself, laid on the sofa at my Mum's old place I saw a few people walking around the living room as if they lived their which was a little creepy!
The strangest thing I have ever experienced which I'm still not 100% sure if it was paranormal activity but I was asleep and dreamt of a room, I had this dream for about a week or 2 and decided to tell my Mum about it. I was hovering over it as if I was a spirit, it was a white room with a white bed and a small bed side table next to it, literally everything was white apart from a book sat on the bed side table! My Mum went as white as a ghost and said nothing for a minute or 2. When she did say something all she said was "Mum" and burst into tears, after she had calmed down she said the way I had explained it was the hospital room my Nan died in!!!
I still get the creeps thinking about it. My nan passed away when I was 6 and my Mum wouldn't let me go into the room to see her or let me go to the funeral so I had no way of knowing what the room looked like. Either it was VERY coincidental or my Nan visited me in my dreams to show me the room she died in, why I can't explain but I really can't see that it could be a coincidence!
My grandad had appeared to my daughter the night he died. She woke up one night over a nightmare she had and said she saw a man in the room. Now, we have a dreamcatcher hanging over her window which has those bad dreams away since we kept it up. So, she she saw the man at about 3:00 - 3:30 a.m. The next morning my dad called to tell me my grandad died. i never told the family this because I don't want to upset anyone. Candra told me that he said to her "Hiya Candra", this is the exact way he used greet his grandkids. My grandad lived in Calgary with my Granny. We had planned to go there to visit him on my trip but he died before our trip. He was really excited to see Candra and me. At least he got to say goodbye!
