Miserable bus drivers!
Is there anything worse?
I took the girls swimming this morning, but Amy asked to go home early as she wasn't feeling well. Sine it is about half and hour walk home from town I decided to catch a bus home. Something I don't do very often because of the above reason. Now I must stress that I have come across many nice, polite and friendly bus drivers, but not today.
He was a right miserable b*gger who didn't even acknowledge me when I asked for our tickets (yes I even said please). He then proceeded to drive as if he was Richard Hamalton, taking a corner so fast that our buggy tipped over and almost sent an elderly lady to see her maker. Thankfully Amy was not in the buggy as she is at the age where she wants to do what her big sister does. Even so I have never ever had my buggy tip over in a bus.
Did he slow down or even stop while I attempted the right the buggy while reassuring my children everything was okay? Did he heck as like, Not satisfied with sending the buggy sprawling he then proceeded to buffer me up and down the bus like a pinball while I tried to get back to our seat.
I spent the rest of the 10 minute journey trying to stop the girls being catapulted to the front of the bus every time it stopped or hurled to the back every time he pulled away.
Okay, maybe he was having a bad day, maybe his wife left him (who can blame her) or maybe he just really hates his job. But it's not our fault!
I have experienced similar situations. The only thing you can do is write down the exact time you got on the bus and the numberof the bus. And if you can, write down the liscence plate. Then call the complaint and comment line about the bus driver. In your case call the authorities. He was clearly placing peoples saftey at risk and speeding.
ðŸ˜
iud complain to the bus company, thats gotta be wrong, im sorry that you had to endure that
Oh my god, sounds like one of our local bus drivers must have moved to your area? lol. Believe me when i say, i have encountered many of these irresponsible individuals! I can't drive and have to rely on the bus to get anywhere as to get to town is a 3mile walk. With a buggy and a 2yr old walking that is a fair walk. The amount of times the drivers don't even wait for you to sit down before they tear off is unbelievable! It drives me to my wits end sometimes. I even had a bus driver that couldn't be bothered to wait for a car coming towards him (due to passing parked cars on his side of the road) so the bus driver mounted the pavement and just kept on going at at least 30 miles an hour. Everybody in the bus was just looking at each other, not believing what they had just witnessed. I couldn't believe my eyes! That was one journey that i did make a complaint about. Xx
Earlier this afternoon I thought Amy was just tired and that explained her wanting to come home from swimming to have a nap.
My cousin popped over with her baby and Amy played with her and seemed her normal self. At dinner time however Amy refused to eat her chicken nuggets (very unusual) and did a rather nasty poo which made her bottom red raw within seconds.
So I definitely thing now that she is coming down with something which she will most propably pass on to Ana just before she goes back to school.
Aw poor Amy, hope Ana manages to miss out on it 😘 Maybe she swallowed a bit too much water at the baths?
I used to have to get the bus to work and I used to cringe when a certain driver was on shift because he used to brake so heavily you almost bashed into the rails on the seat infront!
Aww, fingers crossed Amy doesn't develop any other symptoms. Maybe it was just a bit of an upset tummy? I hope Ana doesn't pick whatever it is up. 😘 Xx
Hope Amy is feeling better soon.
I would complain to the bus company- sent in your ticket if you atill have it.
if u have your ticket it will have all the info needed to make complaint as it also has the driver number on.
my bus crashed in to the side of a skip tother week, some people thort wed been shot at.
i find some drivers seem to speed up just before a stop then brake heavy.
caseys also taken to sitting at the back which makes the bumps and corners even worse.
How's Amy feeling today hun? hope she's a bit better! Xx
I had a bus driver a couple of months ago who didnt seem to care about the passengers, he took a round about so sudden and sharp my pushchair got tipped over, but he never pulled in at the next safe spot for me to sort it just kept on as he was ðŸ˜
now when i go on buses either i sit or stand with the buggy and always holing on to the handles aswel as havin the brake on and my foor on the wheel
Trouble is the way our buses are arranged it is disabled and elderly seating right next to the puschair bit. Everytime we have used a bus the seats next to the pushchair have all been taken. On the rare occasions they are not and we sit there we're asked to move by an elderly passenger.
I would usually fold down the puschair and store it on the bus, but our bus drivers don't like to wait when you have to fold a pushchair down whilst balancing a todder on your knee and juggling bags. This is made more difficult because my eldest has ASD and panicks that if she doesn't get on the bus that very second it will leave without us!
Amy still isn't 'ill' but she's not exactly been herself today. So we shall see what the next few weeks brings.
That's awful, like everyone else has said complain!!! why should he get away with that!!?
Your little one was lucky not to have been in the buggy.
I have experienced bus drivers like this leaving me clinging on to the rail for dear life, it's not right they treat passengers like that, they should drive with more care for the public.
I honestly don't think I will get anywhere as I have complained to this bus company before about their drivers and no joy.
My back is killing me today, although I don't know whether it was the swimming, the bus or doing the gardening the day before.
I would definitely complain. We had a bus crash into a bus stop recently badly hurting a young child waiting with her family. Apparently the driver was texting at the time! It made the papers and hopefully he was banned from driving.
Hubby used the bus recently to get to the train station (about 50 minute walk from us) and said the driver nearly hit two cars when twice he cut the corner so much he was actually on the other side of the road. Hubby complained but we never heard any more.
If you're having a bad day - leave the bus behind and take a day off ðŸ˜
Hope you manage to complain and get something done hon.
I have read about some bus drivers refusing mums with prams on their bus 😛
I don't know what it is like with you but using a bus up here is so expensive, one of the many reasons I don't use public transport
when we were in Edinbrugh the Lothian buses take kids under 16 free, we found it quite cheap, but i assume that you have a different bus company.
I agree it can get expensive it cost me a £5 for us to go one way today on the bus

Down in Manitoba y=they expect you to pay $2.25 and $1.75 for kids 6 and up. For 2 parents and 1 child for 1 way this costs $6.25. Every year this fee is going up .25. The bus drivers feel making an exceptional $17 hr with benefits is not enough. They almost went on strike twice this month, that would've left people finding alternatives to go to work and appointments. ðŸ˜
One time I was on the bus and had to stand with my daughter holding my hand. In alot of our buses now have steps to get at the back of the bus. This has proved to be hazardous by me as the driver slammed on the breaks and I lost my grip on the bar and we fell on the people below us. We were not hurt but strangely people were pissed at me and because I let out a "JESUS CHRIST" when I fell a middle aged lady was just glaring at me. (I think that's what was her problem.)
