And then there were 3!
No not another baby! I have adopted a ferret so now we have 3. I already had Apollo, he is 1. Then last week Summer got a baby girl(2 months) for her birthday which she named Butterfly Flower. Then one of our neighbours said his friend was moving and couldn't take his ferret with him so did we want her, so last night she came to live with us too and I've called her Serenity. We've got the two girls in together at the moment as the ferrets are 'in season' and we want them to all settle down first but eventually we will put the girls in with Apollo and eventually the inevitable will happen and they will have babies. I feel like a mummy all over again but they are much easier than the children to look after.
Oooh ferrets! Are they easy to keep then! Apollo is a fab name for the male one btw! And i love Serenity for the girl... Apollo and Serenity match made in heaven! 😍

Yeah I'll get my hubby to put some pictures on. They are really friendly inspite of their reputation for biting. They live in their cage, have wood shavings in the main part of the cage, shredded paper bedding (as they can have Astma like problems with dusty beds), they have a water bottle and will eat, raw meat, cat biscuits, bread and milk, raw eggs, etc. They are quite clean too, they use one area of their cage as a toilet and wont pooh or wee in the rest of their cage. They do smell though!!!

I had a friend who had ferrets as pets but not that keen on them myself, dont; know why they just give me the shivers.
Serenity is a lovely name!

Sorry still not put pics up, Steve took them on his phone and still hasn't uploaded them. Any way we have a ferret update. We now have all 3 in the big cage together and they are so happy. They are playing and cuddling up to sleep. They play loads and I made them a new toy, it's a box which I opened both the ends of and covered with a pillow case so it's snug. Then I attached it from the top of their hutch so they can climb in and out and sometimes sleep in it. BUT as both Apollo and Serenity were in season (yes male ferrets come into season too) they have spent all weekend mating and now Serenity has come out of season which means unless it's phantom pregnancy (which is common with ferrets) she is pregnant. Ferret pregnancies last 6 weeks so they'll be due early September just after my birthday.
Awwww, I want one!!! Don't know that it'd like it here with 4 dogs and 4 cats though 😲

Sadness this week. Serenity had her babies on monday. She had 3 but 2 of them were still born, then the one that was alive died yesterday 😭 I've given her lots of love. It was her first time so hopefully in the future she'll be more successful bless her. Normally they have between 5-10 babies and you'd expect atleast 6 of them to survive so as she only had 3 there was possibly something wrong from the start. I left her in there with her babies at first (horrible I know as they were dead) but I wanted her to be close to them for abit and to be able to have a rest after giving birth. Today I put her back in with the other two as I thought she needed cheering up and they were all over her straight away they were so pleased to have her back. I feel abit sad for her though 🙁
Aww, poor serenity, i would have been sad too. 😭 I hope she doesn't get too stressed with the situation? Hopfully it will all go differently next time! Xx
