i wish someone could help with Jami

it just gets worse. this morning she took some money out of my purse. since she took it last ive always kept my purse hidden away (which is not right) anyway this morning i left my bag open and i found £1 was missing when i went to buy some potatoes. i could kick myself for leaving my bag open, but i know thats not the point. i dont know what to do

she spent it on sweets. they have sweets once a week on a saturday. is she that desperate just for a sugar rush? 🤔

james has suggested taking her to the police station and getting someone to talk to her, but i dont know. arrgghhhhhhhhh

Does she admit to taking it?

maybe discuss her doing some chores for spending money instead of her stealing it, then she will have no excuse. If she doesn't do her chores, she doesn't get anything.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help, 😘

all she has to do to get her pocket money is keep her room clean. she gets money. i dont understand it.

when she was younger i used to give her sweets most days and because of it she had to have 8 teeth out. i felt so bad, so ive cut them back to once a week. shes not allowed to spend her money on sweets as i dont want it happening again. ive told her she wont get anymore teeth. she just doesnt care. do i sound horrible?

I wish I could give you some advise hun, but I don't know what to say 😘 😘 😘

I am sending you a big ((((((((((((((HUG))))))))))))

I would talk to her Dr maybe and see what advise you get there? 😘

I would take her to the police station or ask a policeman to come and visit you at home and explain about stealing- I know many people who have done this and although there were tears and the child frightened, they havent stolen since.

i think maybe a trip to the police station, maybe a little chat with a community support worker will help. These things start small and have a tendency to escalate.

shes old enough to know the consequences to her actions, shes not a little child so maybe this is something that really needs to be nipped in the bud before it gets worse.

She may just be seeking attention and when she gets it shes getting what she wants.

be strong and be consistant. I would personally buy a safe and then make her see that you got one, make her see you lock away your purse and make her know that she cannot be trusted to be left with money laying about.

Then make sure you keep the key on you at all times.

You let her see that the little ones can have a look in the safe and shes not allowed till she can be trusted enough not to take whats in there.

Goopd luck babes and i hope you can find a solution that works

I don't know what to suggest and I expect you have tried various forms of discipline already but if it were me I would certainly take away or deny certain priviledges. Let her know that not only is her behaviour naughty but also that it is not normal and that you think maybe she needs professional help as you should not have to deal with this. See what her reaction is to thinking she has to see a doctor or psychologist, she may not be so quick to play up then. The police thing would be good I think. Ask one of the community officers, every area has them.

thank you so much for yr replies. weve had a really long talk and have sorted a few things out. weve taken away a few privilages, and also a trip out for her is being cancelled. we dont want to take her to the police but if something like this happens again we will be forced too
