Poor little Zoey...
She got fixed early this afternoon and she is still zonked out.... Mike had to carry her outside for her to go pee pee and she came back in and went right back to sleep 🙁
Poor little girl, as puppyish as she still usually is, I thought for sure she was gonna come home this afternoon with us having to try to keep her calm... not the case at all 🙁
Hopefully she'll be gettin back to her crazy self soon.... then I'll be wishin she was mellow again 😉
Poor Zoey- best thing for her though.
I always wonder why dogs (and cats) don't get painkillers when they have had things like that- humans would but animals just have to deal with it(and in the wild it is not something that they would experience)
awwwwwwwwww bless her. i hate getting the animals done but as alex says its for the best
hope shes back to her usual bouncy self. here are some puppy hugs for zoey x 😘 😘 😘
Ah i remember Roxie being done and she was just the same, she was sick and she looked so sorry because it was on the carpet bless her 😍
She was back to her old self in no time and attacking everyone with her 'lampshade' lol.
Yep, she's feeling quite alot more frisky this morning!! although still a little wobbly in the legs...
Alex, they told us we could give her a 1/2 of an adult aspirin and it seemed to help a little last night... Supposedly dogs have a higher threshold for pain than humans 🤔
😀 im glad she feeling much herself

Im glad she is a bit brighter today.
What dog have you got??
Glad she is better
x
We actually have 4 dogs 😲
Zoey is the baby of the bunch and as far as we know she has golden retriever, black lab and we're thinking maybe dachsund because she's not getting very bid as we thought she'd be by now (she just turned 6 months old).... We also have a lab/golden mix (Sophie) and golden/irish setter mix (Barkley) and my sweet old lady who is half german shepherd and half keeshond (Cory)
and 4 cats to boot!
My word have you got a big house?
We have daisy she is a french mastiff(De Bordeaux)
I love dogs!!!
Is Zoey only 6 mths 😲
Over here they recommend that lady dogs have their 1st season and then are speyed 12 weeks later, so they are usually done about 1yr-18mths
😍 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍
Oh i hope Zoey is feeling better today poor pooch.Missy is due to have her shots we are also getting her chipped.I think Justin will have to take her coz i will cry 😢 (she is so tiny) 😍
Alex said:We had roxie done at 6 months too, the vet also reccomended though we wait, but her mum was pregnant on her first season and gave birth to 9 pups. We felt it would be more unfair to risk her getting pregnant so decided to still go ahead and have spayed. I don't think there's any reason why they can't be at 6 months but some owners prefer them to have a season before spaying.

Generally, here they won't do females before 6 months of age (males as early as 3-4 months) but it's fine after that.
It's only my opinion, but I don't see any need for them to have a first season, it's pure frustration for the female (and any males around her) and to my knowledge there's no medical need for it, and like Sarah said it just heightens the risk of pregnancy. I don't know about there, but here we have a huge over population of sheltered and/or euthanized animals because of over breeding and irresponsible breeding and lots of them get put down because of the lack of funds, homes and resources to find homes for them.... so best in that respect that they don't have an unnescessary season.
Whoa, I almost got on a soap box there 😕 🤐
hapydazy said:ooooooo!!!! 😜 I just wondered. I don';t see the point either but any vet my mum has used has insisted they have a season first 😕 😕

Sorry Alex 😘
I tend to get a little crazy when it comes to animals and such because of all the horrible things I saw and heard when I was very involved in dog rescue (pit bulls and basset hounds and mutts) and we as Americans tend to let our dogs get pregnant with out thinking about all that is involved in finding good homes for the puppies, which more than half end up back in a shelter.... ok, woopsie 😊 nt gettin on the box again 😉 (just a subject that's close to ma heart!)
Alex said:i agree with you tammy as they should be able to be done before they start a season. but like alex said here in the uk they like them to have a season before being spayed. its awful though cause we had a un- neutered male and had to keep him and our girl seperate. nightmare lolhapydazy said:ooooooo!!!! 😜 I just wondered.
