It's more taking the P 😠s out of us Yorkshire folk but you can get a gist lol
PS even being yorkshire born n bred, I still hate mushy peas 🤢 like me fish n chips though 😀
i remember not long before i met kev me and few friends went on holiday for a week to western-super-mare and we met some yorkshire lads to this day i can still here their voice! i love it! i remember sayin watch me coat while i go loo and he said "goin t'torlet" and when we were dancing he said "any minute nar n ul be dancin on'terble"
yorkshire is one accent i gotta admit to lovin lol!
Haha yeah sounds proper yorkshire tha' does lol.
We don't say 'my' it's 'me'. 'on't' instead of 'on the' and 'nowt' lol.
'is the owt on't telly' is there anything on the telly etc
When The full monty came out in the cinemas I remember it was on the news that they had to put subtitles on it for the american audience lol.
as if they had to put subtitles for america!
we say 'owt' or 'nowt' as in 'anything' or 'nothing'. we would said 'wots on tv,owt or nowt?' yorkshire also use our 'duck' as wel dont they in some places, although yours has chnaged into 'luv' over the years - i remember reading that somewhere!
I have to admit, though I've never seen the Full Monty with sub titles, I coulda used them in some parts LOL... that and the move Trainspotting, could barely understand a word in that movie till I watched it a few times 😉
Yeah they usually say 'duck' down in south Yorkshire, Barnsley, they have really really broad accents down there, so broad even yorkshire folk can struggle to understand what they're on about lol.
My dad says love a lot even to blokes lol.
yeh round here a true stokie guy aint afraid to call another guy 'duck' hahaha!! my dad calls everyone 'duck' or 'brick' or 'boss'
