Advice needed plz!

Hi girls! as most of u know ive been signed off sick since 24th jan - df popped dd into nursery today and asked for my jan wage skip - which they cant find and if they had had anything back about my maternity leave - to which they hadnt but instead they gave him a note about my sick pay - which says i will be getting full pay from jan 24th - feb 14th and half pay til 18th April - well thisis wrong ive just fished out my contract and it says in the second yr of service (which i am in) that u are entitled to 2 months full pay (ive been sigend off for 6 wks so not even 2 mths) then 4 mths half pay (even during the first yr u get one months full pay the date i gave above arent even a full month!!)
I cant call pay role atm as id ont have anumber for them will try and get it asap! does anyone else think i have something to complain about - if pay role wont help then im going to call CAB !

its does sound very unfair what they are doing, and if there not giving you what it says on your contract then i think you have every right to object.

There is somekind of regualtion where they can make you start your maternity leave early if you are off sick but i don't think that applies til about 36 weeks...could be wrong though.

Hope you manage to get things sorted and remember its not worth stressing you or the baby out over.

I know that hun - but the docotor has told me what im being signed off with isnt due to my pregnancy so they cant pull that card 😜 ive only got 2 wks of work left after this week anyway! but its so annoying as ive got it in black and white in front of me and even df has had a look to make sure im not going mad - and if its affected by mat leave then it should say - as it doesnt say then they shouldnt be able to do this! 🙁

sounds like you need to get some more advice from either cab or one of the maternity adivce lines. If they do treat you unfairly because of your pregnancy then they are very brave or very stupid as you will ahve a really strong case against them.

perhaps its just a clerical error (wishful thinking) and if you ask about it they'll put it right.

I know with my second daughter i was informed (1 week after she was born by a telephone call) that i wasn't entitled to any maternity pay at all! i would have to claim from the government. after much panic and looking at it all again i went in to see them and they were still adament i was entitled to nothing. So i phoned one of the helplines and tehy said i was right anyway eventually they agreed that i was entitled, apparently the computer system hadn't reset itself from my first maternity leave! never did get an apology though 🙁

its just so annoying because its the last thing you need right now, fingers crossed for you.

Have you had any other time off sick during the last twelve months? This will usually get taken in to account when working out full and half pay entitlements during sick leave. If you haven't had any other time off and it states 2 months full and 4 months half pay in your contract then your employers are in breach of contract if they don't adhere to it. If you are signed off sick with a non-pregnancy related illness they cannot ask you to start your maternity leave unless it is during the last 4 weeks.

Yeah ive has time of sick hun but i thought it was all taken in seperate accounts - even so it still means im short by at least a week of full pay! which makes a big difference! thank you for replying. no one called back so take it they wont will just have to see what happens! Plus im starting my mat leave from week after next which is 5 wks before im due 🙂

The wage slip still hasnt been found and my boss is still looking for my maternity notes - but i know these were seen by my old manager as i have a photo copy of them with her sig on and dated for the day i gave them to her so if they havent been sent off - its my bosses fault not mine - i did keep checking and asking!

I would speak to cab if you can't get it sorted.
