This Friday...
...is my Dad's 50th. We have told him that we are taking him out for 'afternoon tea' on saturday as his birthday present. BUT in reality he will be arriving at a hall out in the country side to a surprise party with around 70 people; some of which he sees alot of now and others who he hasn't seen for ages. Some are travelling from quite far away and staying in hotels so he will be so shocked. We've had 2 photo cakes done at Sainsburys, blown up 5 photos to stick on the wall of him and I've put together a massive clip frame full of photos of various stages of his life- ie- childhood, hobbies, being a dad/ grandad etc. We have chosen all food that he will like and I have been down loading loads of songs that I know he loves,some I remember him listening to back when I was a kid. It's a party designed just for him and I can't wait to see his face, I hope he likes it.

My mum and aunties and uncle did the same sort of thing for my Grandparents wedding anniversary.

aww wow! my parents did that for me for my 18th and i was so shocked! especially when the doorbell rang and my sister said it was the taxi - for me to go outside to find a shofer holding the door open to a huge limo!
its my dads 60th this yr and we were gonna do that for him but intstead we have decided all chip in for them go travelling overseas.

We've been over to the hall and decorated and all the food is prepared. Just need to get ready and go back over later for the main event

Well it was so good. The sun was shining, the kids were playing hide and seek all around the hall and running on the grass. The adults mingled inside and out. The food went down a storm, the music was cool 😎 and old and young sang along 😇 . There were sooo many people there and my Dad spent 4 hours just drifting from one to another with lots of smiles and tales of old times. I had the usual "I remember you when you were this big" 👶 comments from his friends and they were all eager to see my kids (his grand-children). The photo cakes were yummy, I'm going to get them for the kids for their birthdays It was just such a lovely time and everyone enjoyed it, (even though my Dad was abit embarressed when he first arrived).
Oh he might have been embarrassed but I bet he was beaming inside for you all to have done all that for him!! 😍
