Silverstone Race Track
the f1 is there this year - we normally go donnington to watch it so have no clue how to get to silverstone - iv searched the net but aint too sure on what its sayin,we plan to get the train there.we can get a direct link from stoke - northampton, then i presume we have to get a bus to silverstone, but from what i gather the bus drops us off a fair walk away from the track!
has anyone ever been or does anyone live that way have any advice on what we can do?
my pal went last year- he won tickets for the Grand prix last year. I will ask him about it
Hi
I drove there so couldn't comment on the public transport. It is quite a long way from Northampton (20 miles or so). Also I went there for a skid control session so didn't actually go into the stands and instead drove all the way around.
I would be surprised if there is not public transport to get you all the way to the door, although there might be a long walk around the circuit to get to your stand.
The F1 is always at Silverstone, so I am guessing that you watched the touring cars at Donnington? I'm 5 minutes from Thruxton and keep meaning to go down there to watch some racing.

(Has a downloadable 'Helicopter landing application' - so you could always just get there by private chopper! ;))
There's some discussion about the F1 at this forum - it seems if you get the train to Northhampton there is a bus service to silverstone - or if you can drive there is parking at the venue or several park-and-rides.
Hope you get it all sorted!
