Mart was rushed to hospital UPDATE
On Friday he did an extra night shift, so off he went to work. He came home saturday morning complaining of really bad back ache but went to bed hoping it would ease off by the time he got up. He didn't sleep well because he was in so much pain and took painkillers when he got up. I gave him a hot water bottle too. He kept saying his chest hurt too and he had pains in his left arm. I was concerend and told him i thought he should go to A&E just to be checked out. he told me not to be so silly and said if he still felt bad on monday he would go to the docs.
On Sunday he said he felt a strange popping sound in his chest and as I went up to him I could hear it. I said I wanted him to go to hospital but he wouldn't 😉 I got him in the docs first thing Monday and went with him to make sure he would tell him everything including about the popping!
As soon as Martin mentioned about the popping the doctor examined him and tapped on his back and then said he was getting him for an x-ray on his chest. We went to the hospital and they said he'd suffered a spontaneous pneumothorax. Basically his lung has torn and it was leaking air into his chest and had formed like a bubble. The hospital said it seemed to be quite small.
He went to the docs on Tuesday and he's been signed off for a week and has to have another x-ray next monday. The doc reckoned he should be feeling better within a few days bt he doesn't seem any better to me and his chest is still popping.
He's been told if the pain gets any worse or if he feels breathless to go straight to hospital as basically he could have his lung collapse on him. The doc said he didn't need the air 'drained' as it should dissapear on its own, but if his lung seems to be still losing air - to me it won't be going away.
He's admitted to me today he's feeling no better at all, and maybe he should get it checked out. I've said i'll take him and then he said he'd wait on a bit 😉
I know why he doesn't want to go, he's scared of hospitals and terrfied of needles. i just am scared for him and I don't want anything bad to happen.
Soory this is long lol, just wanted to get it off my chest. I wish he wasn't so stuborn all the time, he could have known this if he would have let me take him to the hospital in the first place.
***Hospital today***
He's getting loads better 😀 He doesn't have to go back now as his x-ray showed his trapped air is disapearing well, he only has a small amount at the top of his lung. He still has to have another 2 weeks off work though, but to make sure he is 100% as heavy lifting can cause it to get worse again.
I'm so pleased as he has been really down in the dumps with it as he's literally not been able to anything because he gets too tired. He really picked up these last couple of days !!
OMG hun, I hope he gets better soon, and males always thinking they are too hard for the doctors, you get his ass down there if he refuses!!!!!
😘 😘
Oh noooo hun!!! Huge HUGS!!!! 😘 😘
Hope he does start the road to recovery hun. If you are worried, plonk him in a car and take him there. I'm hospital phobic myself so can understand his reluctance to go anywhere near one of them but sometimes we have to 🙂
Keep us updated.

I managed to get him there. The pain got so bad for him, he had to really. They x-rayed him again and it seems to have got a little worse but they gave us a better understanding of what was going on. Basically they don't want to do a proceedure to get rid of the air because its 20% of his lung capacity at the moment and it can still dissapear on its own, but they want to x-ray him again next week and then go from there. fingers crossed this tear or hole in his lung will heal up soon.
omg hun. hope everythings ok and it doesnt get any worse x 😘
😘 OMG!! hun, that sounds so scary!! I hope everything gets sorted and Mart is back to his normal healthy self very soon... keep us updated Sarah!! 😘
Thanks everyone. He seems to have turned a corner today, he seems so much better. He still is tiring really easy but his pain seems to have calmed down a little. He says he still keeps getting the popping but not as much. Fingers crossed for him.
