Baby walkers...
for anyone that thinks they delay walking - my 2 are proof that they dont lmao! Was sitting here today thinking about how early my two were walking and then was talking to my aunt who said she never used a baby walker with my cousin as she didnt wanna delay her walking - well both mine used a baby walker from 5 months old and both were walking young (dd @ 8.5mths old and ds at 9mths old :P) so just thought i'd say 😜 and ive proved that use sensibly they wont delay walking so for those of you that have wanted to use one with ur babies but were too scared to go for it lol!
sorry useless bit of info but i know a lotof people that never used them coz they were scared! xxxx
sorry still dont like them.
You are trained in child development/care and know about using them properly but some people out there put the babies in them in the morning and thats them for the day, they also put them into baby walkers FAR to EARLY-I have seen kids in them at 4mths 😲 Its not the delaying walking thing it is the damage that long times, and being in the too early could cause to babies legs.
Also travel systems are a bug point of mine (babies are supposed to eb in a car seat for 1 1/2 hours MAX not in the car seat attached to the buggy for hours while Mummy does shopping (the buggy part is suitable for birth USE that!!)
Sorry- got side tracked, and starting ranting in your post!!
Charlotte didn't use the walker because she didn't like it...I'm probably going to get a tsk tsk from Alex now...George sat in one from about 3 month's 😊 We didn't allow his feet to touch the floor though. This was mainly because he could roll around on the floor and got stuck in places if we left him on a mat etc. He sat in it when I couldn't watch him ie I needed to put some washing on etc. He did have a bouncer which he sat in more than the walker but we put him in the walker when he wanted to play because it had a tray on. Neither used it for actually walking or attempted to tbh so I wasn't worried it would affect their legs.
oh alex 😜 i suppose i do know more than most people would 😜 but i do mean only using them for 20 mins a DAY max!!!! 😜
i didnt use the travel system to my buggy much as i got a pliko and they lay flat so was better for thomas anyway 😜
Amy had a baby walker as well and she loved it and it didnt hinder her in the least with her walking as she was 9 and a half months when she walked.
She doesnt have bandy legs either which is another thing people say happens if they use walkers. 😛
cara had a walker, and she loved it - she's never walked on her toes, and it certainly didnt hinder her walking, i dont really see a problem with them as long as baby isnt left on his/her own in them x
i never herd that baby walkers delay a baby from walking! ethan has always been a good walker from 11months (he was cruising from about 8months! but i think that a baby walker gives them more independance but still keeps them safe - especially when he was in the garden!
hes never walked on his toes in it our out of it as i would always make sure he was at the right height so his feet were flat on the floor. its the exact same with baby bouncers!
