Nottingham mums and dads
I work on the Nottingham Evening Post and we're desperately in need of Nottingham parents to participate in features on our new parenting page. In particular, we'd like Notts folk to express their views on the survey below.
Can you e-mail me on jennifer.scott@nottinghameveningpost.co.uk if you're from Notts and think you could help?
Best wishes,
Jennifer
POOR SERVICES. POOR ATTITUDES.
BRITAIN LETS PARENTS DOWN.
New survey results from Tommy's the baby charity*, reveal the state of parent friendliness in the UK today:
* 1 in 10 parents think services are atrocious and below average reflecting both the poor attitude towards families with young children as well as society not being made for families with young children (9%)
* Over half the parents questioned feel that companies' efforts are often superficial and not parent friendly at all (56%)
* An overwhelming 3 out of 5 parents cite the high street as where they have a negative experience when shopping with their kids. Parents claim other people being rude to them as the worst offender (62%)

56% of people feel that companies efforts are often supificial - efforts at what? I agree that in some shops it's hard to get around the aisles, but that's down to trying to maximise retail space surely. It's annoying, but something that you won't get companies to change in a hurry.
A shopping trip can be fun, but I think that if you're specifically after certain products then the internet is easier and cheaper, and online sales trends seem to be backing that up 🙂
