do you celebrate pancake day?

or shrove tuesday lol and if you do what do you have on yr pancakes?

i made ours yesterday as im working tomorrow evening. my family are sooooo fussy. i have good old lemon and sugar, james has golden sypup, jami has jam and catherine has choccy spread. ben doesnt like them

Yummy, love them will loads of lemon and sugar. Yes I'll be doing them. Every year my hubby says "I don't like pancakes" before hand but then when I cook them he's like "Well I might just have one...or two"

I think Shrove tuesday isnt celebrated for what it really is any more. People just see it as pancake day and a day to eat loads of pancakes. How many people actually see it as the day before lent, and how many people who think they are giving something up for lent actually do it for the reasons that we have lent.
It has just become another day where people make money, like Easter, Christmas etc

Sorry I will get off my soap box just bugs me that people 'celebrate; these days but they dont really know why the are doing it anymore

Lol, we were always taught at Primary school what shrove Tuesday was about but tbh I've never done lent, I'm not religious as such.

My sil is but I'm not particularly sure whats shes giving up lol.

We are having pancakes tomorrow, I'm having banana, ice cream and golden syrup on mine I think, and maybe some lemon and sugar ones too....YUM!!

I don't know what the heck Pancake Day is 🤔 but you all are making me want to have them for breakfast tomorrow! 😀 just butter and maple syrup on mine please!

Well i actually had three 😲 I decided to try them.... and had one butter and syrup, one with cheese and butter and one with lemon and sugar MMMMMMM MMMMMM

Thanks Sarah, it's like our Fat Tuesday, which is largely celebrated in New Orleans during the week of Mardi Gras. I'm not Catholic but I had an idea it may have something to do with Lent.
