Does she cry a lot?

Aw hun, I'm not sure what to suggest. Is she just wide awake or is she crying? it can't be easy for you, epecially as your pregnancy will be wearing you out anyway. 😘 😘 😘

I wish I could give you advise hun but all I can do is commiserate with you because I've had the same problems on and off with Aaralyn, she's getting back on track with bed time for the most part now but when she was younger she had a lot of bad dreams and she'd be afraid to go to sleep then she would wake up and be afraid to go back to sleep. I made the mistake of keeping "happy childrens" videos or dvd's on in her room, but I don't suggest that... maybe some kind of soothing sound machine or nice soft classical music??

Good luck hun! I feel for ya! 😘

no shes not waking up crying just wide awake and ready to play. i dont put tv on over night seen that mistake many times lol she has the hallway light on over night as she is afraid of the dark but i really dont know why shes not sleeping. she doesnt sleep at all really during the day. im lost dont know what else to do. xxx

Well, could be her age too, she's at that age of discovering things and she may be just deciding that she doesn't want to miss out on anything and 😉 I have that problem with Aaralyn still...

With George, for a long while we had to take him to bed later on so he would get up at 5ish instead of 3am. It is something he grew out of and goes to bed still fairly late at around 7.30-8ish and sleeps until about 6am and now has a nap in the morning at around 10 while 11 and one in the afternoon sometimes. He got better at sleeping when he learned to walk, maybe because it uses more enrgy I don't know 🤔 Sorry i know thats not much help hun xx

thats ok hun im just trying to compare to see if its anything but shes walking now aswell. and shes going down late but only sleeping for 3-4 hours and then waking up to play i dont understand why shes not tired after all the walking and playing she does. shes asleep now 10pm she'll be up between 12 and 1.

Maybe she is over tired that she doesn't go back to sleep. You could try to put her to bed after each 3-4 hours of play (during the day) and she will probably cry a lot because she refuses to sleep. I wouldn't leave any toys in her bed so that she won't get tempted to play again. She has to learn that her bed is there to sleep!
You have to try to get her into a routine. Mine went through a similar phase and I just put her to bed in the afternoon (she needed one nap daily at the time). She sometimes cryed for a long time but eventually just fell asleep. She was reeeaaally tired then and kept on crying for the sake of it. If you settle her into a routine she will certainly not like it to start with but you have to be tough here.
We never introduced a nightlight tbh because we thought that they have to get used to the dark. After all, that's how we all sleep! Now, when the light is off and the door closed they know it's sleep time and they have no problem at all to fall asleep.
Let us know how it's going!

we did try to turn the light off but ever since she was a baby she screamed till she would stop breathing. what it is, is when i was in hospital with her they turned all the other lights off but mine the one above my bed was left on coz in their words i was young and didnt know what i was doing. she used to be good she would go down at 10pm (still late but she went down lol) and wake up at 7am with 2naps in the day but shes just not tired at 10 anymore.

When I lived at my mums Cait went bed at 9 only time she would settle cause my mums kids where noisy lol.

Have you tried just going in there and laying her back down everytime she gets up. Leaving it a few mins what they do on supernanny, she'll soon get bored and tired. Take out her toys so she can't play with them. Or just leave a book or something for her. She might be associating the light with play time cause she doesn't play in the dark, so maybe she still thinks its the day time.

Can't you get a dimmer switch and gradually turn it lower over a few days? That way it wouldn't be as noticeable as you just leaving the light off.

well coz where her cot is in the bedroom its behind the door so she doesnt get alot of light but yea i did try that with a lamp i had.
last night she went down at 6.30pm woke up at 11.30pm. stayed up with daddy while i had a sleep until 1.30am when she came and woke me up (lol). then she was backwards and forwards so i got bored of it put the travel cot up in my room layed her in there put her 'in the night garden' dvd on and closed the bedroom door so it was just me and her quiet and relaxed and she went off by about half 2 (made hubby sleep on the sofa with the kittens lol). and i woke her up at half 7 for her baby/toddler group.
but i dont want to do that all the time especially when iv got another coming that will be in our room we can barely move as it is lol.
oh i dont know what to do anymore. and to make matters worse she has had her 2injections today MMR and Pneumacocal so shes grumpy. 😬 😬 😬 😢 😢

she knws you give in after so long!!
i had this exact problem with ethan.and after dealing with the 'controlled crying' stage - he sleeps from 7:30pm thru to 9am sometimes later!

first of all cut down on the naps shes having in the day (depending on her age, depends on the nap she gets as the older they are the less they need).ethan is 16 months now, he has no nap,but if he does have a nap is 20-30mins at most.

when u put them to bed make sure u have a nightlight - ethan is petrified of the dark,so hes got a lamp.what i now do is if he cries.i look at the clock - and time him for 10mins (they say if a baby crys for less than 10 theyre after attention - more than 10 theres something wrong).anyways, you can gaurantee that in less than 5mins hes asleep!! i do they same if he wakes in the night!!!

never never give in! i know its awful to listen to them screeming but if u give in just once - your back to square one all over again!

you just need to sort her routine before baba no.2 comes along! is she having enough tea at tea time? she could be getting hungry? ethan always has a cup of milk and a couple of biskits before bed to get his belly thru the night lol!

awwww sorry to hear that hun,
i cant help sorry
kieran just wouldnt sleep in his moses basket he only slept if he was lying on me so i gave in and he slept with me until he went in a bed at the age of one.
being in college now if kyle is the same and wont sleep then im gonna have to do the same again.
hope u find a way hun xxx
