can babies have nightmares??

i mean as young as ethan??

hes just woke up screaming! so i darted upstairs and he was asleep! i couldnt calm him down so the only thing thats calmed him was me shuvving a bottle in his mouth! he now seems ok! 🙁

could heof had a nightmare? what exactly could they have bad dreams about tho when they are so little? its not as if hes ever watched anything nasty on tv or im sure his little imagination cant make up scarey things can it? 😕

well yes i think they can cus i think kieran has had about 2 bad nightmares so far cus he has woken up screamin and all he needs is me to come in the room hug him and he falls straight back aleep if i lay him down awww lol and i think there nightmares are of bein alone or somethin like cus in the day u got to think why they cry, like if u walk out the room and they dont like it anyways thats what i think lol just of stuff they would cry about lol xx

it upset me in a way as it made me think hes having a nightmare about us telling him off or something!! 😢

if he messes with something he shouldnt and has to be told numerous times then i raise my voice and tell him no sternly - i dont mean full on shouting like some asbo mum lol!

i just worry incase he has bad dreams of mummy and daddy telling him off!

oh ok yea i have to do that too, well every mum has to cus u cant just let them do what they like over other ppl's house. if i was too shout at kieran with a very high voice he would cry and i would feel so bad bless him so i would prob cuddle him or somethin and ive heard u not aloud to do that cus they will just go off bein naughty again cus they know how to work u lol xx

i dont think its a case of what your 'not aloud to do' its up to you, your his mum! nobody tells me how to raise my son! if someone thinks im being to stern - 😠 'em! if they think i aint applyin enough disciplin 😠 'em!!! hes my son and only me and his daddy choose how we bring him up!

yes that is very true and thank god kieran doesnt need tellin off like that but i think ppl are right u cant let them know u will just give them and cuddle and kiss after shoutin at them otheriwse they will know u will do it every time lol xx

yea charly had nightmares at 6months old i can calm her down by strocking her face and talking to her gently telling her mummys here and she goes back to sleep.
have you tried anything like that hun?

Charlotte used to have them, but she would be practically screaming even though she was still asleep, HV said they could be night terrors and just something some kids have. We think Charlotte has had an episode of sleep walking too, a few times she would be at the bottom of the stairs and be in a daze, as though the lights were on but no-one in lol. We just lead her back to bed and she went back to sleep. This was about 2 months ago.

my little1 has woke up in the night screamin i went to see to her and she was pointing at the wall and was starin at it for ages then wen back to sleep.
it really frightenend me. not sure if she was dreaming or seeing things!!!
