Disposable or Washable nappies
Okay so I am only 12 weeks and 3 days but am having thoughts of when beanie arrives. So lets throw it open lets debate?
no debate really from me - i use disposables, never considered washables really - i guess both have pro's and con's though x
i've always used disposables but i think if i have another i will give washables a try cos i am a bit of an eco freak and it would save a few pennys wouldnt it. you can get nappy washing services now that come and pick them up, wash them for you and bring them back, although i think i'd be a bit worried i might get the wrong nappies back and be wondering if they're someone elses! 🤢 i'd say its got to be worth a try 😀

i had to get a bargain the other day did a bid on ebay 3 brand new kushies nappies + 3 brand new reusable liners + pack of one dispostable liners + nappy soak,
£10 🙂 + 5.50 postage £15.50 bargain
reuasbles 🙂 x
oh yea the childminder would love it if i used washables,i should get them just to piss her off haha but no i dont use them lol xx
I used disposable but would use washable next time (if there is a next time)
i used disposable for casey but am using washable with baby. they should arrive soon.
my friend is a cloth nappy agent so i get lots of help. im getting wonderoos to last from birth to potty.
i use throw away nappies do feel a bit bad bout it but dont like idea of washing my own ive seen some throw away ones on the web that decompose better so might order some i use pampers and a friend has given me a pack of huggies but i aint tryed em yet also a m8 got me some tesco own nappies an dey are just az gd as pampers
aww kimbe shes arrived shes so cute x
I think re-useables are a great idea but it's this initial cost that put me off - also the fact I would have had more washing!
I just use disposables but I think that re-useables are cheaper than ever now.
disposables for me cheap and easy lol
I used to work in a shop that sold nothing but cloth nappies and i thought the idea of them was horrid!! All the extra washing and the storing of the dirty ones 🤢 But! i had to try them on my little girl who at the time was 10 months, so i could tell people which one's i recommended.I loved them so much, that when i left to have my baby, i bought a whole new set and i'm still using them 13 months later!
If anyone was thinking about them, i think that the best one's are the bamboo nappies. They are not as bulky as some of the other ones, and they seemed to have no leakages whatsoever.
The washing isn't too bad either, just 1 load every 2 day's!
They are an expensive purchace,at around £250 but you don't need to buy anything else apart from the liners.(you may even get them cheaper on ebay!)
And 1 set can last all of your children.
my initial cost has been £207 that included a nappy bin. thats for wonderoos that should last until hes out of nappies. if you think what u pay for nappys over birth to potty, for me 2years its half the price at least.
my friend has all sorts of different ones that shell allow me to try before i buy, she got addicted to them. i love the feel of the bamboo.
Im going to use disposables again.I was quite happy with them four years ago, and as candgsmum said they are quite cheap now.Alot of my friends use washables and they are quite happy with them. 🤔
I will try to avoid using disposables if I can...I worry about the amount of nappies clogging up landfill (not to mention the ones left teetering on top of full litter bins/left lying around on the beach etc etc - some people are really rank).
I will probably end up using washables at home and disposables when out for convenience.
I'm just so confused about the gazillions of different types....might just get terry squares with liners and outers (forget what they're called) - my mum managed fine with them for me & Bro & Sis and they are a nice cheap option too
