How do you meet new friends??

I've lived around here for nearly 3 years and in that time not really made any friends.

Everyone i did know around here has moved and my old colleagues in Leeds have mostly moved too - so they're now more than an hour away, (which i could deal with before).

DP and i took dd to a playbarn thing on Thursday and there was a mummy there with her gorgeous little toddler. She was alone so we had a little giggle etc etc.

When we left i wrote my number on a napkin and said if she ever wanted to meet up for a coffee then just to call me.

The following morning she called - thanked me and said that she moved here three years ago and hasn't been able to make friends. She's been too toddler groups etc but everyone sits in their little groups.

She was really pleased and said she'd love to meet up for a coffee etc. 😀

Never done this before - but two glasses of wine and a bit of dutch courage!

😀 Aww that's really cool! Most new people I meet are just through other friends etc, but I know a lot less people here since a lot of my friends finished uni and moved away etc. I don't think I've ever randomly got chatting to someone like that and then met up afterwards, good on you!

I think that's really nice you met like that and were brave enough to leave your number. I've lived in the same town all my life and so have friends I've known a long time but they don't have children yet and so our life styles are so different now and I'd love to be more friendly with other mums. Have fun with your new friend 😀

My mum always says the best way to make friends is to join the church! even if you dont believe, people there are very welcoming and from there you then meet other people. Toddlers is a a funny one,it can be good or bad depends if there isnt a cliche or someone comes out of the cliche to you!

too true ma and jo met through this former sites name and we knwn each other nealry two years and we have become the best of friends 😘 and m so glad to have her in my life 😘 😍 shes waht friends are all about 😘
we ave known liz nearly a year too and liz is our good fun gal 😉
