OMG!!! im so annoyed
I have been working with my company since july anf fell preg right away only to find out i miss out on maternity pay by 2 days!!! i know i will get something from the government but and just so annoyed as i have always worked and just bad timing on changing over jobs, cant believe it. what makes me even more cross is there is no movement on it. so i just have to accept it.
That doesn't sound right hun - I thought your company had to pay your maternity even if you start and are pregnant?
Saying that my friend had a lot of trouble with hers - she didn't earn enough to be taxed on so she had to claim her maternity through the job centre even though she is still classed as employed?! 🙃

when are you planning on starting your matty leave? if it is at 29 weeks work until you are 30- you will qualify then.
I got SMP when I was pregnant and because of my earnings over the previous year I got £100 a week for 26 weeks
i was always lead to beleve that if you have been employed by a company for 30wks previous to conception (or might be start of mat leave-cant remember now) ur entitled. u then get ur full wage for 20wks and then £100 or 90% of your earnings - whichever is greater.
if u have a union,enquire with them
cant u stay on a extra 2 days babe
good luck

thats a god point! stay on longer n u should be entitled,i worked as long as i was allowed by rules of the company (2wks before my due date)
the law states you hsve to work for your company 26 weeks by the 15th week b4 ur due to give birth,if not you wont get company but you will get government the time slot for me was 30th june till 16th dec have i worked continuously from those dates but i started 2nd july so miss it by 2 days, so have to claim it from government, but not all lost i only lose out for 6 weeks then i get what i would be getting anyway so all dont look as bad now.
